Is there any need to update the presets for Aether/B2/Breeze - included in the newest Perfect Storm installers?

Thanks.

Hi
With the final release old sound is back, so there is no need to update expansions.
But good news for you that I updated factory Single Engine presets in B2.

Download here:

Cheers
LOL, so you´re saying that only for that onew Beta version, Andrew improved the sound and then reverted those changes back to the old version :D

No.
It was a bug. He admitted in the earlier posts if you look...

There is no change to the sound for any of our three verbs in these updates. That is the official word. Period.

If anyone has concrete evidence to support otherwise we are happy to look at it, but we do NOT know of any change to the sound in any of the betas or the final version. Nothing was done that should effect the sound. In fact the version posted here two weeks ago or whenever IS the final version. No change was made at all.

If things sound better maybe people just happen to be in a better mood that day. Some days I hate my own piano compositions and other days I love them. The compositions did not change. I did.

So this is the official word on this topic unless there is some test that proves otherwise.

So I have to make a clear proof that there is a change in the frequency response between these two versions.
Null test shows very good like analyzer graphs.

Because of random modulation two tests will never null.
However I made tests with two same versions, and another with two different versions.

In the two versions null test it is obvious that higher frequencies are coming out.
In the other example that is not the case, they are too similar by freq. response.

This is clear proof that between versions there is sonic difference.

These 2 ProQ2 graphs look identical to me, what are they supposed to show?

OK. I will explain to you.
First go to GS thread here:

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/11009774-post805.html

Click on the both images, and after that switch them fast from next to previous under the pict.

You should see the difference now.

They are measurements of the audio files attached on previous post there on GS.

And you're claiming to hear these tiny dB-changes at that frequency range? Are you a bat maybe??

But this can be attributed to any of the various modulation in B2...

Not saying that it is completely impossible something changed, but we are pretty damn sure it did not. :D

No. Bats are producing ultrasound for their navigation in the darkness.

But, I have the hell of the monitors:

From 36Hz to 48KHz, ribbon tweeter, actually the bats are complaining here non-stop... :D

Whenever I try to load the attached preset which was created on the former version of B2, LogicX instantly crashes, always, subito. So not only has the sound quality drastically improved at 12.345 Hertz, but the new inbuilt quality filter will refuse to load certain presets :)

Hi Simon

If you open the preset with text editor you can see this: <SubsetID (String): "FilePreset::Engine", string>

And if you want to load preset for B2 should be like this: <SubsetID (String): "FilePreset::Full", string>

So you are trying to load engine preset to Full preset, that is why B2 is crashing.

Your theory of 12.345 Hertz is falling here..

Thank's for checking. But I never saved an engine preset in my life and the preset always loaded fine before the update which leaves me baffled.

The latest preset: "Dark Hall D"

Yes, I think Den is correct. Attempting to load an engine preset as a normal/full preset (either by accident or intentionally) can cause unexpected/undesirable results. Probably we should add some kind of error dialog to prevent this by accident. :tu:
