music-society presents MM20 by B. Roff-Marsh for MidiMusiker
Edit: it's a golden oldie (http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=266554), as that link is dead, it is good to have a working link again

There's only one official EMS emulation - the iVCS3.
(My personal favourite is the KX77free one - kx-synth-x16.)
Around the time former EMS employee Ludwig Rehberg was hiring Peter Dewald to make the excellent (350-euro!) Synthi Avs, Robin Wood (current owner of EMS) declined to enter into a similar agreement with SE genius/guru Richard Brooks.
Brooks had already made the still wonderful sounding (but probably most unstable VSTi of all time) VCS5, and the unfinished beta Woods rejected was eventually released (still in beta) as the almost equally unstable Synthiaks.
While his Moog and Arp clones were picked up and developed further by the Voltskitchen group - into the legendary Arppe2600a and MiniMogues - I always felt it an almost criminal shame that no-one had lavished the same attention on the EMS clones.
Why has it taken me 5 years to discover that The Man Himself has 'revamped' (his word) the VCS5 - 2500-style matrix 'n'all - as the Triton, in 3 differently modded flavours?
http://www.vickers-armstrongs.co.uk/vir ... ritons.htm
And if that's not enough utter bonkersness to keep you going, try and get your head round these two absolute gems:
http://www.vickers-armstrongs.co.uk/vir ... ojectQ.htm
(But whatever you do, don't look at the 'coming soon' page - 'soon' is a rather flexible concept where such geniuses are concerned.)
I'm just glad tomorrow's a holiday 'round these parts ...
(And here's a couple for mztk only, d'ya hear?
http://www.vickers-armstrongs.co.uk/vir ... essons.htm
http://www.vickers-armstrongs.co.uk/vir ... snbobs.htm)

ah: so there was no need for me to be embarassed about
referring to Brooks' work as Vickers-Armstrong - i thought
i'd got it wrong - maybe i was getting confused with the
people who built the -what was it- Wellington or Lancaster
bombers. (-or was it Vickers-something?)(lost the plot, over here)
his synths are ace prefabs if you have a look inside: no containers,
all done in the one page, and no subcontrols either (was prob'
before SE had subcontrols)-you've got to be really organised to
build a big synth like that.

Wellington ... not to mention the Spitfire ...mztk wrote:... i thought i'd got it wrong - maybe i was getting confused with the people who built the -what was it- Wellington or Lancaster bombers ...

And maybe not entirely unrelated:

Some of these knobs have me itching to have another go at getting my head around SE (it was still freeware / earlyish beta last time I tried), but the links appear to be just anchors, not downloads:

I knew I hadn't imagined it!
Tim Conrardy did make a patch bank for Brooks's VCS5:
http://www.vickers-armstrongs.co.uk/vir ... ojects.htm
I finally found it - here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20120513115 ... ounds.html
bundled with banks for 30-odd other instruments (free and otherwise).
Enjoy!

In the VST world, legends don't come much more legendary than David Haupt. His modules have graced some (most?) of the most iconic synths of the digital era, and his co-authored SE book has been the launch-pad for many a developer - pro and dabbler alike (we salute you, one and all!).
But anyone visiting his domain since around January will have been greeted with either the dreaded '404' or the following message:
"The DE Haupt SynthEdit Web site has become outdated, and is no longer available.
Many thanks to all who have supported it over the years! "
All is not lost, though - the site has been well archived on WayBack:
https://web.archive.org/web/20120501023 ... index.html
The modules themselves have long been set free, and will remain an essential resource for as long as musicians continue to use 32-bit (and I don't think there are many browsing this thread who are in any great rush to change).
And his demo VSTIs (in case you thought I was going too OT) have an old-time charm all their own.
Be absolutely sure to download his MatrixPak:
https://web.archive.org/web/20120429080 ... rixPak.htm
Not only is it behind some of my all time favourite synths (I can't resist an EMS-style matrix!), but also the .zip contains the irresistible (if somewhat prosaically named) DH_MatrixDemo - you really don't want to miss it!
