As far as I understood, you can only map the root key by adding the note name to your sample file (or having it as a metadata). In this test I mapped the sample at C5 and worked as expected.

Just ran a quick test. I found some presets to be heavy (over 1GB of sampled content!) but the sonic quality is VERY good. The User Audio feature, even if limited to one sample per layer, works like a charm. Their resampler is really good. This is a short video I took using only 1 sample from one of my commercial sample libraries.

Nice... Really Nice... Don't stop... Let's hear/see some more.... Please..

Can imported audio be looped for sustained notes? Seems like such an obvious feature, but I can't find any info about it.

Watching the NFL draft AND Rangers hockey right now, but when they're over I'm jumping back in the check out the rest of the EDM presets collection....and new effects. Guess I'll report back with a more in depth review after midnight.
Remember kids...Everything is impossible until it's actually done.

I just spent about an hour playing with the new presets starting with the letter "D". Some insanely wicked sh*t in there, for sure.

Damnation
Dark Brood
Daybreak
Deceived
Deceiver
Deep Water 01
Dervishes
Deserted Shipyard
Desolation 1
Desolation 2
Devionics
Distant Drums
Dubai
Dusk 1-5
Duty Cycle

I don't really compose music that uses sounds like these, but maybe I should. Major, major soundtrack stuff in here.... lots of these patches - hold down one note for a while and see what happens.

Great stuff - very creative sound design.

I just want to know how long it takes to install and how big the file is before I drop $500
So if you loved the sounds, but found out it would take two hours longer to install than you thought it would, you'd not buy it?

I downloaded the upgrade and it took about 30 minutes, with a steady 10 mbps stream. My internet tests out at 120 mbps, but it obviously didn't download that fast.

The full version is probably 2.5x that size.

My first Omnisphere 2 patch, Stalactite Dance :P

https://soundcloud.com/voice303/omnisph ... ce/s-SXpGH

The first sound is ice being stirred in a glass of water, put through Omnisphere's new granular engine. From there it it goes through the waveshaper for some nice crushing and through a modulated Juicy filter into a delay, making its way into a gated innerspace setting... makes a cool almost vocal sounding part.

As far as I can tell there are no new "revolutionary" filters in Omnisphere 2. Juicy is as good as its gonna get at least for now... which I used in this patch and do enjoy the sound of.

Yes, but the loop points have to be embedded in the audio file itself, according to the manual, so you would need to use an audio editor, like Sound Forge or Audacity prior to importing the file into Omnisphere.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

Just under 19GB and the time that takes is highly dependent on your Internet connection. I will say it completely saturated my link the entire time.

There is one annoying thing though: I'm not allowed to re-download the large file. My upgrade entitled me to one, and only one, download. I think I'll order a USB stick to put it on...

First impressions:

1. Holy hell are the sounds hot. I lowered the master volume of Omni to -6db and several sounds still clip. I'll probably keep it around -9db just to get any kind of headroom.

2. I thought there was something wrong with the latency of my keyboard, all notes felt sluggish like I was using an arp even when I wasn't. Turns out Trigger mode was enabled by default to the next note. Talk about annoying. Here's a screenshot of what I mean to help others avoid the pitfall:

EDIT: I think it was in trigger mode because I loaded a multi and then switched to browsing presets. It wasn't obvious that was what happened though so I'll leave this tip up for others just in case.
