I despise EDM (robotic), Dubstep (intestinal), and all their spawn. However, I'm glad Omni has presets in those genres because one of my ways of getting around a new or revamped synth is to take the presets I hate and make them into something I like.

What's thrilling to me, is that Omni2 is at its core a large and wonderful/bizarro sample library, with the addition of all these crazy creative tools -

But what got me it buy it, as opposed Dune 2 or Serum, both superb softies in their own right, was the expansion from 4 to 400 dsp waves/wavesequences -

Yup, there goes the thread. Tedious discussion to which there is no end - any chance of keeping it on Onni 2?

If it replaces the first instance does anyone know if it is fully backwards compatible with tracks made using Omnisphere (1)? I get a free download of it but am halfway done with an album that I use Omnisphere on a lot and I don't want to do anything that might screw with the tracks that are already recorded. I guess I could just convert those tracks to audio first just in case.
It replaces Omni 1. So far no hitch at all with existing projects, with one possible exception - I had a mis-timed sync delay on an existing patch. Quick tweak and it was back. Haven't any any other issues, and I've been working on several existing projects. It's just possible that it was always wrong and I never noticed before, but it was very noticeable here.

Stuff like Granular have legacy modes for compatibility reasons.

Just discovered something about Omni's arpeggiator. I have always wanted it to have a 'hold' button and was disappointed to see O2 still doesn't have one. However, I just found that by turning the Arp on, then changing the input MIDI channel on the mixer while still holding a note down on the keyboard, the Arp keeps going. Not the behavior I would've expected, but as a poor man's hold button, I'll take it...

Have you tried the Latch function in the main page?

That's clearly a missing Note-off message.

Not welcome in 99.9% of all cases...

My eyes must have passed over that 1000 times while looking for it on the arp page :D Tnx.

The original (v1) sounds are still there though, aren't they?

Can version 2 run alongside version 1, or does it replace it?

V2 replaces V1. The V1 sounds are still there, separated - set category ALL and under version, select Omni library 1.

Can anyone tell me why Spectrasonics don't have the manual available as a pdf-file for download? This reading online is a mess especially when the webserver is unstable like it is now. And there are times when Internet isn't available. Right now I'm downloading an offline version of the manual, but I would prefer a pdf-file.

Could get lost in just using the Innerspace effect - it's wonderful!

Really pleased that I have not lost any of my ratings and all the controller mappings I set up in my Kore template are still intact too.

Note-off isn't missing, just going to CH1, whereas I had already switched to CH2 so the arp would continue - in this case, exactly what I wanted.

Latch (what I was looking for originally) is simpler in most cases, but one kinda cool thing about this way is that I can then switch the slot back to CH1, where the arp (never having received the note-off) is still going. It continues as originally played, both while I play another arp on top, and after I let it go.

Trying to keep it about Omnesphere, but it is hard because I don't have it yet. So all I can talk is about other people's experiences. So far I have no impression, just replying to those who has. If nobody posts new impression, we start talking about general stuff. It is like a fashion show: have to talk about something while the models off the podium.

Why did you even bother writing that?
