I know.
But Harmor does not have any audio filters. Its filters are influencing the partials directly.
They sound totally different to conventional filters.

It may come as a surprise but we make about half of our turnoverTeksonik wrote:Yes downside. As an existing FL user you have no value to IL since you've already paid for the product. Free means nothing if an update has no value.
selling plugins & content to our existing customers so it's in our best
interest to keep those customers on-board & happy.
From an economical POV & as owner of Image-Line I'd give my
right arm to have every possible feature request implemented
(I'd get a new bionic arm with the income
possible.
Regardless of "Homer car"-syndrome & the technical issues some
of the feature requests entail most of our developers already
work 7/7 trying to get our software working on every possible
machine & babysitting every possible plugin out there.
This said I really hope we can get features like multiple time
signatures and other requests implemented in a later update.
Have a nice weekend!

On the subject of the mixer:
I'm really liking the docking and the separators. However, it would be much easier to see if the white fader caps were also coloured by the selection - or the choice to load in custom controls made using the ControlCreator via a right click menu option.
I do like the new organisation of plugins. Took a second to adjust to but will save a lot of time in future.

Once upon a time gol changed the F5/F6 keybindings from opening the Playlist/Step Sequencer to something else. I remember suggesting that that was a bad idea, and having IL start a poll about whether this should be reverted back to the way it was.Teksonik wrote:Custom keyboard shortcuts ? In FL ? That's called a "feature request" good luck getting them to listen.......
No "feature request", but it shows that IL does listen to the customers if the requested feature makes sense.

I'm afraid listening to their customers for some people equals to say how high if you're asked to jump.sQeetz wrote:Once upon a time gol changed the F5/F6 keybindings from opening the Playlist/Step Sequencer to something else. Absolutely. Some people can get too precious about ideas they have and then take it personally if an idea isn't implemented. I am pretty sure that ImageLine has an idea list longer than any user has compiled and they will be working towards improving the concepts already there. Also noting that one can't just make something happen - it has to work within the framework of the program as it is.chk071 wrote:I'm afraid listening to their customers for some people equals to say how high if you're asked to jump.sQeetz wrote:Once upon a time gol changed the F5/F6 keybindings from opening the Playlist/Step Sequencer to something else. No "feature request", but it shows that IL does listen to the customers if the requested feature makes sense.I feel like it's kind of a result of the ability to comment on everything on the internet. Imagine how it used to be back in the days where you had no possibility at all to communicate with the dev's or the companies, apart from a phone number. And still there were probably less phone calls than there are now. Actually for me it's hilarious, and hardly believable that you have dev's browsing these forums, and even replying, or reacting on feature requests, or user feedback or suggestions. I mean how much more grand can it get? It's paradise almost.
Honestly, I can't believe the amount of stick ImageLine is getting for writing one of the most popular DAWs available. I've been getting free updates for over a decade and it rocks. FL Studio is my go-to DAW for sound design and mixing because I find it fast and intuitive.
Starting to sound too much like a fan-boy. You can find me moderating on FLipside forums: http://www.theflipsideforum.com

It's BECAUSE of that. People expect it to be perfect because it is so popular.Unaspected wrote:Honestly, I can't believe the amount of stick ImageLine is getting for writing one of the most popular DAWs available.
"How can so many people be using it unaware of its shortcomings?"
...well... because nobody cares about them. Except the 0.% who do.

Just curious, is it possible to record linear yet in Fl studio 12? like in a typical daw where u load a vst instrument, arm the track and go, vs. recording a pattern then placing it in a playlist etc..

I don't remember saying that, but I certainly wrote, and still do, that people who mainly use sidechain compression for -ducking-, can do the same thing using compression/limiting on a single track, as long as the signal used for ducking is also audible (which it generally is, often the ducker is the kick that you hear).basic audio wrote: I remember the good 'ol days when you thought a peak limiter and sidechain compression were the exact same thing.

But isn't that also the case of many famous musicians?Andywanders wrote: The man plainly knows nothing about music theory
Ask yourself if our app would have had much success if we had put all that pointless theory in the face of users, & if newcomers really care about it, seeing that you can make good music without knowing how to read a score sheet.
In fact, it's even probable that not being able to read a score has become the norm for a musician, today.
By adding multiple time signatures you avoid having users getting confused as to why everything gets out of wack. saving customer support time. If it's not possible to add then that's ok. if it IS and it's not a Huge PITA to implement.. then let's figure it out.
Experimentation in FL Studio with time signatures leads to confusion when it shouldn't

No, it has absolutely nothing to do with that. They get the stick because they still do many of the most simplest and basic things wrong that have been figured out in other DAW's long time ago. Just look at the new mixer and compare it to mixers in every other DAW - it's still is way inferior because it lacks some very elementary things. I'm actually quite surprised that they did no functional improvements alongside the GUI makeover.sQeetz wrote:It's BECAUSE of that. Or even worse, they often lack some of the very basic things. And instead of trying to improve they most often point to cumbersome time wasting workarounds as an excuse for not implementing something.
FL Studio is not the only DAW in the world. There are plenty of people who actually use several and have a good baseline for comparison.

@ memyselfandus: Are you really quoted your own post not once but twice?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
