Not only that, it will help enormously if buying it causes you end up in Shit Creek...werp wrote:Tell your Mrs that you're getting into healthy canoeing and she's just found your new paddle.DHR53 wrote:My new favorite guitar... trying to figure out how to hide from wife.

Thanks, I thought it was very unique. I'm doing a complete retrofit of all hardware, including the neck. If it turns out well, I may get another one and do one with super hot pickups.nix808 wrote:That sandblasted finish is gorgeous SJ
Fender has been doing these special run guitars for a bit now. I like the idea. Currently they have some with custom art. They look great. But the hardware isn't that good. Perfect for modding.

Well it sucks (and blows). Put the pedal in the main amp in and no reverb. I got the schematic from Fender and, yes indeed, the reverb is just before the pre amp out. I guess that's why they don't call it an effects loop.Uncle E wrote:Another thing you can do is use a tube preamp into the main amp input of your Sidekick Reverb 35. I believe that will still give you access to the spring reverb. Make sure to get an actual tube preamp and not a tube distortion.
I'm tempted to buy a Vaporizer as an inbetweener. I tried one and it put a huge grin on my face and the price is good, as they are on clearance. I resisted an immediate purchase but could be a good alternative to a having to pick between tubes or springs.
BTW Fender Sidekick Reverb + Rocktron Zombie =
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

That's as bad as all those guys in the 70s who had custom made guitars that they later admitted were awful to play and they never used in the studios. Mostly British glam rock bands I think.
Give me function and sound over novelty any day!

Well what do you think?
BEFORE

After hardware installed

Neck in place

Still have to get the frets dressed and leveled, install tuners and string tree. But, this is spot on what I was hoping for. The Irish Tours sound WAAAAY better than the stock American Standard single coils.
