It is if one isn't born with absolute pitch. There are other piano tuning applications for iPhone/iPad that range from a low of $299 to high $999 - the average is in the $700 range. The Yamaha application is really much more user friendly than most of the others, which seem to rely more on "sort of around the pitch" - Granted, one still needs the actual tuning tools, so any software can only make up for one's lack of absolute pitch.
