Verberate is actually completely algorithmic, although the early reflections are implemented using FIR filters. It seems to me as if H-Reverb generates a synthetic IR for the whole reverb tail and there is no feedback structure at all, hence the "long" and "short" versions of the plug-in. That is a different approach than we use in Verberate.

Stian

1 CPU heavy
2. If its a Lex sound you are after there are much better and cheaper plugs out there.
3. It is the best Waves reverb but that couldn't be difficult.
Mac Studio M4

Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

gave it a quick spin...it seems to be about the same cpu hit as aether in low-quality mode, and offers much of the same depth.
While I won't be buying, it's nice to see waves stepping up their game in this department (the surround versions also make it at least a possibility for those in post).

Well I'm completely sold.

I thought I'd give it a shot for the hell of it, but at $350 (full price) never entertained the slight notion of purchasing. However everything I'm trying it on sounds amazing... Which is weird because reverb and I aren't friends. I can never make reverb sound the way I'd like it to.

I will be purchasing, but damn is it expensive even at $200

If you buy, don't buy direct...check out plugindiscounts.com, audiodeluxe, or jrrshop for some savings :tu:

Good advice, thanks.

I'm seriously in love with this thing.
Every preset chosen at random sounds amazing on any source material.
Mind you I do like to absolutely drown my sounds in reverb, and in doing this it excels.

Does it simulate a real room? Wouldn't have a clue.
Does it approximate a Lex/Bricasti? Ditto.
Does it sound good? You bet ya it does.

I think this one will push me to finally upgrade my Horizon to Mercury, but have to wait for a great upgrade sale. It will happen eventually.

More like Virsyn Reflect

I think you may have been thinking of Reverberate (by Liquidsonics) which is mainly convolution (although it can generate algorithmic tails and modulation) - the 2 plugin names often get confused.

I think that is the one I'm thinking of, having interesting modulation options.
I was kind of turned off by HReverb and that part - and you cannot load general IR's either.

I will continue discover what IR1 can do in combination with other stuff, rather than buy HReverb, I think.

I expected something of flexibility like Waves Element synth, where you can choose about 20 sources for modulation on four lfo's - and target ADSR parts etc and many other parts of synth.

I'm really fond of the idea and abilities to create never heard of stuff

It really makes me appreciate Reverberate. With its delays, modulation, chorus, routing and added M7 impulses it's awesome!

Add to that Verberate (current fave), Phoenix, R2, TSAR, Valhalla, Ultrareverb and I'm yet to be tempted by H-Reverb. If I were limited to the previous Waves verbs I might go for it, but I still find it oddly cold sounding for some reason.

I downloaded Reverberate earlier today - but read it as M7 presets were only part of buying yet other libraries - or did I get that wrong?

I have some I think M7 IR's that I use in IR1 - I should be able to load into Reverberate I guess. But if somebody did presets with some ambition doing the same modulations as Bricasti is even better, really curious about that.

I cannot believe you say that.

There was this thread about Bricasti as VST a while ago, and there were Verberate shootouts with bricasti(stian had this) - and verberate added massive amount of harschness in my ears. Produced fatigue to my ears really quick.

Here's the M7's. There were others available that were pulled as Casey only allows them if they're offered free.

Thanks, it seems I read these bottom links wrong, didn't check them out:
http://www.liquidsonics.com/software_reverberate.htm

It was Samplicities free libraries too.

Downloaded their presets too from LiquidSonics.

I got a link to Reverberate a year or so ago, but just bought IR1 so I felt I had to discover that first. Reverberate is what I hoped HReverb would have been in terms if functionality - yet to hear it in action.
