A sad day indeed.
After his recent struggles I'm not surprised.

I think the daughter was right and the judge was wrong.

The thrill has gone.....
One of the all time greats, someone who knew the value of the right note in the right place...and the reason my first electric guitar was a red Gibson 335 copy....

Freddie died in the 70s...Albert in the 90s...and now they're all gone.
A whole generation of blues guitarists from that era imitated his licks...his sound...his style.
And that vibrato when he hit the high notes...
RIP

I hope it wasn't the case that his manager abused him in the way alleged.
Huge, huge loss - there are probably few blues guitarists who had such a wide influence, and his style was so distinct - his imitators just couldn't nail it the way he did.
This is one of the worst losses in the music world in a long time.
RIP

Rest in peace Mr King.
I grew up listening to his music, and i think his music will never leave me because it was just that damn good. I hope they buried lucille with him because i don't think anyone else deserves to play his guitar except him.

Somehow his music sounded all the same to me, but he did make a few songs that I kind of like (which however were probably not typical of his music). Into the Night for instance...

that would be Blues Boy to be more precise (that is where B.B. came from)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
