Likewise there's a drum rack if you're an Ableton Live user in my project here:

Geez, i got it. Very hard to work with this synth, for CPU consumption and EQ difficulties.
Anyway, i wrote a track which i think is "in tone" with the emulated hardware:
https://soundcloud.com/fabio-calzolari/ ... nk-bikinis

Made with 18 instances of PG-8X VST plug in.
Effects:
Modern Compressor
EpicVerb
SonEQ
FerricTDS

Enjoy (and feel free to critic) :)

Uh, while i've made some of the patches myself, and tweaked some default presets, i can't thank enough the guys who made lot of sounds for the synth. I've used few of them, none of what i requested, but looking at how that geniuses sorts out the things they do is a great lesson anyway,

Many, many thanks.

Great freaking job, Parduz, haha! It's awesome... totally Jan Hammer on some b-side or so...Miami Vice flashback! 8-)
I can't believe the sense of perfection in terms of 80's vibe from tip to toe...even/especially the percussion and drums. Crisp, too! :tu:

Great job, really! :hyper:

Nice Job Parduz!

Well, my track now has 40 instances of PG-8X and it's not done yet. Assuming the rules are changed to "whoever uses the most synth instances wins", I've got a very good chance!

I also might rank in the "most compressors used" competition.

This is a tough one, I've spent a ton of time fighting with PG-8X. There's definitely an element of randomness (or variation, it almost seems like an LFO) to its envelopes that makes it very hard to get anything percussive to be consistent.

It's still fun though!

One clever trick I've read a little too late (I'm not willing to go through the trouble of updating my track for some reason?!) was to use the inverted envelope for your filter or osc2 matters and raise attack. That gets the sounds to be as percussive/snappy as they can be!

(sorry not trying to spam, just trying to get this right, I neglected critical info in my earlier post)

https://soundcloud.com/beatdriver408/osc75
25 PG-8X's as drums/percussion
27 PG-8X's as synths

Ableton built ins, Melda Free Effects Bundle used, BitterSweetv3 transient shaper on drums & percussion, TDR Kotelnikov on master bus, SGA1566 tube emulation, NightShine compressor on drum bus, Nebula REDEQ on one of the synths, and Softube's saturation knob.

Hey! Welcome to OSC! You'll probably have to put it on sound cloud in order to get admitted though :)

Post

Ok I'd posted it earlier but I had neglected the PG-8X instance count and plugins. I put everything in one place now above ^^^ and hopefully got it edited correctly. Please let me know if I'm missing anything. I tried adding to the soundcloud group but there's no feedback from soundcloud it just returns silently so I'm not sure if I did that correctly or not.

Post

Ah, I missed that :) Sorry!

No worries, I appreciate you looking out for me :tu:

And thanks for the kick drum preset, it got me started.

I thought about making a download link for my presets, but at this point I don't remember which ones I've made, which were modifications, and which are just stock or from other people. Next time I'll take notes...

Finally have my studio setup in my new pad and I thought I would give this OSC a go expecially after my recent purchase of a MKS-30. PG-8X certainly sounds good enough for my ears. I made this in just 24 hours and have decided to let it loose for all to hear:

FL Studio 12
17 instances if PG8X
1 Instance of EpicVerb
1 Instance Classic Master Limiter

Thanks for that! I have also discovered that a bunch of the percussive sounds are way more consistent if they're played on the right note -- somewhere around C2-C3 is the sweet spot for most of them. I finally have a 5-layer kick I'm pretty happy with.
