The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Listened to more than a bit of bb again today after a long time of not hearing him. There can be no doubt, his phrasing over a ballad is really magic. So often imitated, never equalled.

I had the extreme honor of meeting BB King when I worked in a music store here in Vegas. We shook hands and I half jokingly asked if he gave lessons and he replied "No but I'll show you what I know". I still remember Mo the store owner looking horrified by my audacity but Mr. King was a true gentleman with not a hint of ego. Of course we never actually played together but he has always been a hero of mine and that goes back long before our encounter. He's one player who could make a guitar sing and cry.
The Blues has lost it's King and the world has lost a legend. Lucille cries alone tonight. Rest in Peace BB King. Thank you for all you've given the world.............
