Actually, most (or at least a lot of) plug-ins have that function, it's very useful. And yes, in this case, it's useful to get the fine settings you want

In honor of Saurus 2 being released, I've re-released my 'Jurassix' sound set for Saurus. More info here - http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 7&t=380756
I'm still hoping they'll do Filterbank 4. Fingers = crossed for that one eh.

I wonder what's next for Tone2. A Rayblaster 2 would seem like an odd idea. I'm unsure what exactly could make it into such an upgrade. Same with a Nemesis 2. Nemesis already has an absurd amount of synthesis types. All I can think of to add in a 2 is more synthesis types and more waveforms, both of which are probably not worth a full on 1.0-2.0 major upgrade.
Maybe it's time they went back to Gladiator? That would be a good idea IMO.
It doesn't look like they updated the manual for this release. Unless I'm missing something. They really should do that.

I agree. Gladiator is one of their earlier synths, and it could probably use an overhaul (and a larger GUI). Its current patch-management system is quite limited, especially compared to Tone2's other synths.KingTuck wrote:I wonder what's next for Tone2. A Rayblaster 2 would seem like an odd idea. If they're not, make the album anyway - and include some of your patches in the download ...? (Though maybe not for us Patreon cheapskates! https://www.patreon.com/user.php?v=MacofBIOnighT)Mac of BIOnighT wrote: I'm thinking now of putting together a soundset when time permits and if Tone2 is interested...
The same 'trick' might bump up the sales on some of your other albums, too. (There's more than a few of us still hoping for your ElektroStudio patches: http://macofbionight.bandcamp.com/album ... ssic-em-08)

A Gladiator upgrade would be awesome. Great synth imo.planetearth wrote:I agree. Gladiator is one of their earlier synths, and it could probably use an overhaul (and a larger GUI). I just purchased the Saurus 2 upgrade and installed it but, everything literally looks the same and there is nowhere to check the version number. I'm not sure anything is different. I just paid around $70 for this but I don't think anything happened.

Check for instance if there are the high-cut/low-cut pseudo-EQ settings (last column in the display), the old version did not have them if I remember correctly.

Gladiator is pretty good. It's missing some painfully obvious features (mono legato for example). It's filters sound dated. It aliases a lot, it's psychoacoustic processing mode (not that I use it) is ridiculously non-transparent (they've got it pretty well down these days though). It's envelopes are iffy. It's more buggy than any other Tone2 synth. Its reverbs are f**king terrible. It almost requires unison for many patches to sound good, and some of the stereo stacks don't make any sense to me (why can't you set stereo spread? Who likes the way some of those unison setups sound?). It needs more than 2 parameters per FX insert.Apostate wrote:A Gladiator upgrade would be awesome. Great synth imo.planetearth wrote:I agree. But I do really have affection for it. I like the way it's setup to some degree and some of it's modulation ideas in the oscillator modules are cool. If Markus gave it a good update to set it up with the standards of their current synths, it'd be ontop of its game again. As it stands the closest Tone2 synth to it is Electra2, which really is quite awesome.

mine says Tone2 Saurus - Analog Synthesizer, no mention of Saurus 2, I wouldn't have posted anything if it wasn't exactly like the Saurus 1 I was just using before I bought the upgrade. Thanks though.Frantz wrote:Show the keyboard. Some possible causes, not that I'm Tone2 tech, or even super familiar w their stuff...
- Permissions (Windows anyway, not sure about Mac). Did the installer have rights to the existing install directory?
- Any chance it got installed someplace unexpected, where your DAW doesn't see it? Does the standalone version also look the same as
Saurus 1?
- You could try uninstalling the old version first.

I fully agree about Electra, and you made some interesting points besides.KingTuck wrote:Gladiator is pretty good. It's missing some painfully obvious features (mono legato for example).
