Put aside all your preconceived notions about FL Studio, install the latest version and commit to finishing ONE song with it. I agreeKarma_tba wrote:I am starting this thread to give credit where credit is due. FL Studio is an excellent DAW and is under-rated by many, but it's users are enlightened and happy. It consistently rates in the top of any DAW poll. If you would like to express your satisfaction this is that place to do it. If you want to bash you know where to find those threads!

As long as you keep "deep/slow scan" turned on under Options > File settings it's pretty much the same. Instead of "Channel > More..." you'd select "Add > Refresh plugin list" it'll open the new, more extensive overview.Numanoid wrote:I love FL Studio, but feel heartbroken that they have removed the "Channels -> More" option in FL Studio 12![]()
In FL Studio 11 I get an overview of all my VSTs just by clicking the Channels option.
In FL Studio 12 all that have been moved to the browser.

I love Image-Line and everything they stand for. They bring us world class products and don't ask a lot from it's userbase. You couldn't ask for more from a music production software company. FL-Studio 12 is awesome and inspirational, and is a must have DAW for anyone that seriously loves creating electronic music. I am glad to have purchased almost everything they offer in the shop with zero regret. Worth every penny and more. Thanks IL for all of your hard work. It shows in all of your products and I'm a happy customer.

Well we are a privately held company owned by two pragmatic and nice guys. I have worked for several multinational corporations including Zeiss, and I can tell you, the Image-Line management have developed the best business model and company culture I have seen in this space. Reflected is a 'keep it real' approach to our customers. Apart from FL Studio's Lifetime Free Updates, look at the licensing system. One regkey unlocks all products on any and all computers you want to install it on. It's simple, logical and doesn't impose ridiculously complex USB keys and other challenge-response systems on people.highkoo wrote:Its kind of a sensitive time to ask for opinions.
But in general, IL as developers and FL Studio as DAW are excellent things. I have been a fanboi since forever.
We try to treat customers the same way we would like to be treated...which includes honest and open exchanges of opinion from time to time and trust. But at the end of the day, 17 years of FL Studio development (including Lifetime Free Updates) do most of the talking for us.
Image-Line & particularly FL Studio is a lot bigger than it may appear, based on industry news/mags/website coverage. We don't pay for any advertising (and haven't for over 5 years), why? One day we observed that paid advertising campaigns ceased to have any impact on our sales figures. We think this is because word of mouth (at a high and constant level) our own social media now swamp anything the 'industry' can do for us. For example the FL 12 launch on facebook reached 741,888 people, had 15,210 likes and 2389 shares. Our own mailing list is so far in excess of 1,500,000 people it scares us every time we post a newsletter (the servers go down). No advertising in magazines or on websites can touch that.
I have also observed most publications don't have a single Windows machine either in their offices (perhaps the accountant) or in the staff members homes. They seem to either really hate Windows or at least look down their noses at it. It's almost as if many take pride in shunning anything to do with Windows. All a bit strange given from what we can gather Windows accounts for at least 50% of all DAW software sales for our competitors. Hardly conducive for us to get any press. Also strange because Windows today, is lightyears ahead of OS X. Particularly since 8.1. Windows is touch. Windows is choice and flexibility. Windows is back and forward compatibility. Windows is customizability (software and hardware). [ EDIT: For the record I do appreciate the plug-n-play simplicity of the Apple software/hardware ecosystem ]. But how often do you see Windows machines used these days in music software reviews? Shout-out to flying the Windows flag there
Both of these factors mean FL Studio gets almost zero coverage from the press. It makes us look far less significant than we really are in the industry. But, hey we are doing well enough, thanks to the support of our loyal customer base. It will be interesting to see if anything changes when we release FL Studio for OS X.
Regards Scott

I am sure that I speak for the FLS community when I say thank you. Your efforts are appreciated and your success is well deserved.

I have to be honest I bought FL studio awhile ago and never really wrapped my head around it. However I just installed FL 12 and I find it to be a lot more intuitive then a few version ago when I bought it. I have been playing around with it here and there just trying to get comfortable. I hope to get comfortable enough to work on a song soon in FL studio but it is crazy how different it is from other DAWs at times haha.

Do the words 'Sound on Sound' spring to mind? They sure do for me... FL Studio is verboten in SoS...Image-Line wrote: I have also observed most publications don't have a single Windows machine either in their offices (perhaps the accountant) or in the staff members homes. I came to FL Studio last year, after using Renoise for many years (but I only make music in my very limited spare time, about one hour a month on average, no kidding), and wondered why I ever bothered with Renoise. The piano roll in FL Studio is unmatched in the industry, no other company even bothers to try to emulate it. And with FL Studio 12 I just got Sytrus and Maximus for free! How many other companies do that?

FL Studio is a top quality product and is my all-time favorite DAW. All FL haters can suck my dog's balls. Thanks and have a nice day!
