Hi everyone! JR here from Positive Grid to discuss all things JamUp and JamUp PRO mobile guitar app.
So who's using it already? Have you replaced your physical amp and/or pedals for practicing, recording or live gigs with JamUp?

I am not a guitar player but use it as an insert effect for my synths in audiobus.
It can make the meanest synthbass even meaner, for instance with a set-up like Tube Power-> Octabass-> Uni vibe ->Digital Delay -> EQ4 -> Loomis PQ -> Substain Comp. I bloody love this thing, it sounds like
and soon I will own all the modules.
Excellent Work.

I use it mostly for practicing, but it's just one of my setups. I have a small 12w Kustom tube amp going in to a 2x12" open back cab which I use for classic rock/pop, anytime it seems more appropriate. I also still use my Line 6 Pod as the front end of that Kustom amp as well sometimes.
The coolest setup is using JamUp in the Alesis IO Dock out (stereo) to a Bose L1 with sub. I can even stand right in front of it with my Ibanez Talman acoustic with no feedback.
Even though the Bose is mono it will pass the stereo to a D.I. for the FOH.
I'm still learning how to use it too. I swear these pedal emulations are very true to the results from the actual stomps, many of which I own and still use.
Thanks to Positive Grid for taking the time to do it right.

Longtime fan/user of JamUp pro. I don't usually put it in a physical rig (though it does sound great through my little Line6 practice amp), but mostly to practice. I've got several similar apps (Amplitube being the most familiar to most) but I always wind up using JamUp. I just sounds better to me and gets me to the sound I want with no hassle.
Very good app. Recommended.

Sounds cool! I definitely want to take a listen to that mean synthbass, please share some recordings in case you have them! Also, do you plan to use it live? Which PA would you use for that?IncarnateX wrote:I am not a guitar player but use it as an insert effect for my synths in audiobus.

Hey Martygras, that setup looks like a really good combo, do you have any recording you can share? Cheers.martygras wrote:I use it mostly for practicing, but it's just one of my setups. I will soon, as I have just bought Auria, and using JamUp (I'm using the stand-alone app, not the IAP) works great in the effects slot of AudioBus.JR@PositiveGrid wrote:Hey Martygras, that setup looks like a really good combo, do you have any recording you can share? Erh..no recordings at hand. But I may post a little snippet on my sound cloud. No live use, just home studio and hobby. Have no knowledge about amps so your app is all I have to learn about them. Among those amp sims I have from the in-app bundles, Tube Power is the one that does not turn my synths into something guitar sounding (distorted), so if I should play live, I guess it would be something like that. You tell me.JR@PositiveGrid wrote:

Really cool demos guys. Please contact me directly if you need support for JamUp. For now, check this out this crushing JamUp demo with Misha Mansoor from Periphery.

I'm getting a slap back delay, this did not happen when I first installed it.
I'm using an iRig pro with an iPad mini with retina display. iOS 7.1Low latency mode is on.
Has anyone got the pickup video app to work?

Was using Jamup with Bias integration and just switched over to Bias FX.
Bias is the best Amp sim I have ever used. Easiest interface and tweakability. Bias FX now very good too for initial launch. Still plan on using Jamup. I have Jamup XT Pro, whatever tha means over anything else. I never did read into differences too much having bought it years ago. Just hoping it will all continue to run on my ipad 2 for awhile without issues. No problems yet. Even at ultra low latency. The ability to download amps now from tone library is unbelievably cool. Some others have really taken some time building particular amp models out of bias nd easy to find really good models. Just playing around with a modded Marshall 800 model that can flip from EVH classic sound to a sound that was dominant in early 80's metal, right on to classic rock type sounds. Very satisfying to play through.
