I just saw the news at Best Service about Titan 2 - has anybody got Titan? Do you think Titan 2 will be worth buying - it has 12,500 presets!

And it aint too much of a HDD guzzler either

24GB in size (78GB uncompressed) 10.000 multi samples, 200.000 single samples cover 244 of the greates classic analog and digital synths, workstations and the biggest modular systems as well as every recent trendy software synthesizer on the market.

I never owned Titan 1, but the demo is quite unrestricive and useful.

So for those who have got the money Titan 2 could be a rival to UVI Vintage Vault

As I remembered from Titan 1, they did sample all that stuff, but they didn't name the patches properly according to the sample source (maybe they didn't have a licence for that) - how ridiculous is that? Imagine working with Omnisphere, but not knowing from which synth the sound sources are...

Hope they did better with ver 2.

At least now they name the synths they're emulating: (...style).

Did they just sample all those synths? And what does that even mean, "Alchemy - Style", "Omnisphere - Style"...

Yes, it's a bit odd, since you can hardly say Alchemy, Omnisphere, or most other synths have a 'style' to them!
Still, if the presets are good, I'll be very interested in this.

i tried TITAN EINS and wasnt impressed and this sounds still not even close to Sylenth1.
i am not sure if they have sampled something, but sylenth1 is different.

it is maybe good product when you just want to start off with some sounds and create something fast, but it isnt sounding unique i think.

It makes really no sense to compare a samplelibrary with a single virtual instrument. Titan does not replace your VA just because they sampled a few sounds of it.

I have Titan and imo loading time is great, many (35GB) multi-sampled synths (average stuff a bit dated.. ..okay you can say "nostalgic".. ..anyway, don't expect modern sounds). What i don't like is the terrible preset-browser and the uni names of the presets.

I will update to 2 of course.

It looks like they've switched to just using sound-alike names for the synths they sampled:

What I'm still not clear on is how they named the presets (do they actually have descriptive names, unlike Synth Werk), and is this really just the factory presets of all of these different synths, or new sounds? If there are new patches or solid layered patches that mix and match sounds from other synths- and if it's possible to narrow down searches in a reasonable way, it might not be bad. (It's available now, BTW.)

Here's a video that shows how to browse presets (completely folder-based, and arranged similarly to some UVI libraries), but doesn't go deep enough to give an idea of how presets are presented/named.

Yes, in T2 you get a name that is close enough to know where it came from (e.g. 'Diverson', 'Dume 2').

The only problem for me is that it (like Era 2) only works with the new version of Engine, which requires Mac OS 10.9 and above, while I am still at 10.8.5. At some point I will upgrade, though that will probably mean losing certain older plugs. Kinda stuck for now

But many of them seems to be soft synths, so have we started emulating soft synths now?
