I have put up a page 'cause it was easy and free at mperia, cause' it was easy and free, but i think I'll check out some other options too.

Surprised no-one's mentioned the Unsigned Band Web and Music.download.com. The UBW is very good, active forums (very fair comments and reviews), plus weekly charts. Choice of lo-fi and hi-fi uploads and downloads. You get your own homepage, plus 15mb of free upload space (which is enough if you're uploading lofi versions of your tracks)
Can't recommend it enough (I would say that wouldn't I, seeing as though I'm a moderator on the Electronica forum). Have a look at my homepage on the site to get an idea what it's like.

in the free arena, I've just spent the morning setting up downloadable/streamable set at download.com.
They allow 50 meg of mp3 for free. So that's one 50 meg file or 50, 1 meg files. Putting it up on the weekend takes 2 to 3 days till its activated. Mid-week things are up in a day or so.
So by Wednesday I may be 'active'.
I looked at some other free options and most had limits of either 5 mB per song or per whole site. The shortest song I rendered as mp3 was 5.1 mB and most are considerably larger. I figure 50 mB is a nice size to keep 4-6 of my better tunes in circulation.
Anyway if I did it all right, I may be able to announce this week where the wider community can listen in.

In regards to Mperia, one thing they have that turned me off from using them as a host is they allow anyone to "review" and "rank" your tracks.

HOSTING SERVICES and WEB SITES FOR MUSICIANS
List of features
I have sectionz.com, but I too am looking for a different host, so I would really like to hear about the pluses and minuses of potential hosting sites. Iuma sounds pretty good.

Soundclick is my favorite by far. Why? Traffic.
Even at the mighty MP3.com, the most d'loads I got in a day is 80.
Soundclick? While at the moment, I get a meager 40-80, when my tracks were first uploaded, my d'loads went as high as 650 in a day.

Thats interesting about soundclick, what style of music do you do? do you think Soundclick is popular across the board or in certain genres?
Anyway, I'm going to sign up for audioshot too, because its free (or cheap, depending how fancy you want to be and how popular you are), because it has a cool name, and I can do my own design.
