Okay last friday I encountered a huge problem as I somehow lost all my mail possibilities.

Anyhow the time was right to install everything from scratch here. I figured that starting from scratch would clean up a heavily dirtied registry and probably solve some problems I had before with some audio conflicts (never got tuareg to work for one)

In my numb eagerness I tried to reinstall windows on saturday morning.... well things did not go okay and I made the stupid mistake of getting online before getting my protective coat on; which resulted in cathcing some humongous virusses.

XP for some reason does not know fdisk anymore to format my drive; with the result now being that I have my system running again, but everything is starting from the D-drive and not the C-drive...

How do I make a clean break and reinstall the lot from scratch?

:help:

you are talking oh win xp pro I hope ...

before starting to install go to bios and set your comp to boot from cd-rom.

get the cd into the cd-rom .... and answer all the question win-installer will ask in a way, that win will install on drive c.

win will format drive c so there is no use for fdisk. (in that case.)

after installing everything (including a WORKING firewall ... :-(() it would be a good idea to get aversion of partition magic (I think, pm6 is freeware now) to do all the harddrive-work with that programm.

good luck!!
