So I just destroyed my hearing at this show in Vegas and I can tell you this David guetta guy is the worst I've heard since the local strip club dj. Your music sucks. Chris brown dropped the mic tho. That kid is gonna be for real if he doesn't f up again.

Sorry to hear that, but it belongs to another forum don't you think?
And no, I'm not mad because I'm french and my name is David

This stuff is using the instruments that we discuss on a regular basis here and it is about how these instruments are used. I also thought this guy might be hanging out here and I'm sick of it so I'm ready to have an open discussion about the BS being force fed into my ear holes on a regular basis now. About the depreciation of the music due to the nature in which people are using these instruments. I thought it would also be interesting to see how mush of this forum is sales and how much is real. It doesn't hAve to be all at once, I'm pretty hung over right now but it can be a long term open thread about how to use the instruments now available to us..

First thing is 40 db is not going to make better tracks. I definitly sustained hearing damage last night. For what purpose? It was my friends birthday. I would have walked out otherwise. Second thing is... Paying a bunch of call girls to model for your set and dance around like dumb sluts is not going to make your tracks better.

first this forum is far about support and the use of instruments than it is about sales. Of course there are many developers selling their products here but they are also here supporting their product in the main forums and some in their own forums.
As for the rest of what you said, I'm glad I wasn't hungover trying to read it
Are you suggesting that music at a level of 40db caused you hearing damage? I just stepped out on my balcony with my SPL meter and the ambient noise level outside was about 45db.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Hopefully it wasn't damaged. Not good that someone can't keep hold of an expensive piece of equipment on stage.Dasheesh wrote:Chris brown dropped the mic tho

I'm discovering two things at this point in my life. 1. Guerrilla style forum ambushes are too difficult to do one handed on a phone running from airport gate to airport gate. 2. Dj's are some of the fakest and most hollow people on earth. Absolutly soulless. It has dropped to a point that it will probably never recover. It hurts to come to grips with this fact but the music is dead and I'm having a lot of troubles wrapping my head around that. I need to move on in my life. Enjoy your pretend life.

I agree that Guetta is shit and you probably knew it before, but... are you sure it's something that important? There's plenty of great stuf to listen to.
Let the poor guy alone and enjoy the good stuff! That's the best way not to kill oneself

Shouldn't we all be deaf from small talk then?
Also I don't get it, who/what the heck is this about again? I've never even heard of this person/DJ/whatever.
And doesn't every generation say that the new music sucks? I mean... you can make an argument from a standpoint of complexity and technical skill but beyond that "good" and "bad" is relative anyway.
For every really good song, there will always be 9 bad ones. That's just a fact of art. Newer stuff just seems worse because we forget all the 9 bad ones for all those 1 good ones, remembering only the good stuff... how many Beatles rip offs were there that sucked but we all forgot about?
