Sounds like a lot of work to do still.

Awesome.
Good decision to make it a public beta too, sure you get a lot of feedback. Looking forward to the 64-bit version.
Eit: So we can install 1.1 alongside version 1.0?

I notice that you can't load it allongside, at least not in reaper 64 bit, if there's already a 64 bit spire loaded

GUI reminds me of a marine radio set. Not the most inspiring one I've seen, I have to say.GilJ wrote:When?![]()

Will it be available for Mac as well?

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Switch preset once, did fix it for me in ReaperKingTuck wrote:Some frustration is fair. This is a far ways off from what was promised.
Anyone have it working in FL? Won't even output audio for me.

Calling them amateurs is fair? Besides, they always wrote it's gonna be a complete rewrite, and they're not exactly a 100 employees company. I don't understand such reactions. Deadlines have always to be taken with a pinch of salt anyway. It's almost impossible to deliver at a set date. People should be thankful that there will be a version which 1/3 the CPU consumption in the foreseeable future. And for now, i don't see a reason why one should not use Spire 1.0.x as it is.KingTuck wrote:Some frustration is fair. This is a far ways off from what was promised.

Don't be stupid, ck071. I said some frustration is fair. You know that. It was a deadline they set up themselves, some frustration is expected when they can't meet it. Again, you should know that. If you can't even empathize with that on some level I think you're just lying to yourself. You shouldn't steer this thread off topic any further. I'll keep my talk to 1.1 and not Facebook comment complaints about 1.1.chk071 wrote:Calling them amateurs is fair? This is super impressive. It really doesn't want to work with my FL, but I suspect that'll get sorted out soon enough.

yes I commented too, I thought that we were landed in gamespot or on the youtube comment section from a playthrough of a new game release.
And well, if it's a complete rewrite, no wonder it takes so long. People who are quick to talk about how long stuff takes, should tryh program their vsynth themself. It's usually lack of respect. You didn't pay them to be your slaves

Yes, but calling them amateurs isn't fair, nor is that insulted kid who got detracted from its christmas present attitude presented on those FB comments. It's absolutely hysteric these days.KingTuck wrote: Don't be stupid, ck071. I said some frustration is fair. You know that. And big +1 @ CosmicD's post.

I'm glad I read those comments and learned from others that in a minute's notice, you can't make music with Spire as it stands right now because the update isn't finished when stated it should be. I learned that the best thing to do is throw a tantrum, threaten to buy a competing product, and hide behind a computer while talking as much crap as you can about a company that you have no idea about it's developers or it's inner workings whatsoever. See? You do learn something new every day.

Hi vega555,vega555 wrote:Dear friends, we are glad to announce Spire 1.1 Win32 beta (other versions will be a bit later). This is a demo of a proof of concept of new optimized Spire DSP engine with lower CPU and Memory usage but the with same quality of sound.
Before trying this version, please read carefully notes below:
1. Everyone is welcome. If you don't have Spire license, the beta version will noise periodically.
2. Beta is not feature complete product, some functions which are present in 1.0 currently missing or disabled in 1.1 and will be avaivable in upcoming releases.
3. Don't use this version in production projects.
4. Currently the only first factory bank is supported. Currently some presets may have different sound with 1.0, but we are working on full compatibility.
5. Arp and Stepper, Filter Combo/Scorpio, Osc SAW PWM Mode, Macro Modulators, Microtuning, Global Pitch Shift, Pitch Bend Wheel and Mod Wheel modules are in progress, they are present in GUI but not completed in DSP level.
6. Please send crash reports, found issues and suggestions to beta@reveal-sound.com

You guys seem to have done a very good job here (although work still in progress
I tried some chords with presets PD Digital Drift with v1.0.20 and v1.1_beta: CPU went down from ~70% to ~30%!!!
However I have a problem when loading the beta version (using Live 9), I have to change preset in order for Spire to make sound (then I can come back to the first preset if needed and it will work)
I think that you are really on the right track with this Guys, so keep up the good work and
Cheers,
GilJ.
