Today we have released the updates to 8.0.20 for Cubase Pro/Artist and Elements. The update downloads and version histories are available through the corresponding download pages as always.

Solid.

I love the updates to render in place. Cubase still needs track transform like Studio One, but Cubase has come a long way with render in place.

Also some nice updates to Groove Agent SE 4.

I see a for me a very important point which drives me crazy since a long time.. the amount of duplicated redundant automation points after moving/duplicating events. It needs a lot of time if the project is finished to cleanup all this stuff.
If understand the changelog correctly, there is now some automatic trimming (if the option automation follows events is enabled) so this should solve this problem?

Anyway, such option should be also added to the automation functions... some kind "trim events" to remove all redundant automation points also if automation don't follow the events. (so some kind of "cleanup")

Channel selection is now an option for link groups - small thing..but a big thing if you use VCA's. Also, u-he Presswerk won't crash projects during render-in-place operations while in HQ mode (this is undocumented). Nice update - they actually added features.

No there isn't but if you need it you can always contact support and ask for it.

We will deliver this as promised but it will be on a separate update. As officially announced it will come on the second half of June.

This update breaks the console 1 compatibility for me.
The main out has now the tracknumber 1 so Tracknumber 1 exists double in a project. Of course this is a problem for console 1 when there are two Tracks with the number 1......

This latest update (64 bit version of 8.0.20) is still leaking memory under Windows 7 64 bit.

To reproduce - Create an Empty project. Load a single 32 bit or 64 bit VST. Leave the host to idle for 24 hours or more. Cubase 8 memory usage after approx 24 hrs with nothing but a single VST loaded? 2.6GB of ram.

One of the test VST's used was Diva, but I've seen the same leaks with other VST's too, so it's not Diva's fault. I think one of the others was a Roland VST3, and it's also done the same with x32 VST 2.4' VST's as well.

When you close a project, so nothing but the title bar is loaded, Cubase also continues to use the ram.

It all points at a fairly severe memory leak somewhere within the core of the main program, reproducible with just a single VST loaded and doing nothing much else than waiting a long time.

Perhaps it might be triggered by time / idle activity? In any case, it's a rather nasty bug.

After the update, I can no longer run Cubase. I get to the point where I can select a recent project or an empty one. Both choices will result in (sorry, in Danish):

Any ideas?

So after having started the 32 bit version, I now succeded in loading a project as well as opening an empty one. However, trying to open the instrument rack crashes cubase with "a serious error has occured". I think I´ll downgrade till somebody knows what to do about this..
