long story short

showandtell day at school,my son takes my cd in to tell them about dad

few months later im approached by teacher with a question regarding a school project.

anyway
the project is a space project,there is going to be some displays in the main hall of various artifacts borrowed from here n there as schools somehow manage to do?
also one classroom is going to be turned into a mini planetarium.
teacher says would i mind doing some background music for atmosphere

i said yesyesyes

jump to today i get a call from the teacher giving me the specs
its a 3 hour talk from some british guy whos been to space and the planetarium,now hes like we dont mind looping a few minutes worth and im thinkin no this is my ultimate challenge

so a three hour atmospheric space piece

only thing is i got 6 weeks and dont get a penny

damn schools

fire up your smartelectronix arsenal to randomizely chop up the voice with loads of reverb added in the end, press record, leave the house for an extended coffee, come home and it's done for you

sounds like the perfect task for Whitenoise Additive and its capabilities to generate sounds which still evolve after hours.

Sounds pretty good you never know what will happen from this. I had a similar experience with one of my tunes. The AV guy where I worked heard one of my tunes and thought that it would fit into the Annual meating film he was working on for the museum I work for, I thought sure why not. It paid nothing and it was an opportunity to see how my music would work in video. Well the Board of directors loved it, all the senior staff could not believe that I did music and loved it so much that they decided to use me for a commercial for the museum the next time they did one. They finally hired me to do the music for the last big exhibition and I got paid $200 for it. That one they loved even more so now I am the first choice whenever they do their TV spots. I don't do commecials but this is a non profit organization so I am willing to bend my rules for art.
This is for a good cause John so do it you may find that the guy who has been in space will like it enough to suggest you for some NASA project or a documentary by the BBC.

You should get everyone to send in 3 minute clips of soundscapes, all at a set BPM, then mix them together in Orion with your own tracks

try and see how many reversed swear samples, and subliminal messages, and teacher's nicknames you can get in there...

if there was one person to write a long piece of music about space, then it would have to be you john...
