It won't install if there is Mangle32.dll already present, it does not overwrite it.
You have to delete the previous version first.

I hadn't updated in a while, and was playing with 1.0 this morning. Is the mod matrix working? I started with a preset and changed everything else, but I couldn't add other modulation targets (such as rate) besides the ones that were in the list when I first loaded the preset. The indicator on the right side would fill in but it didn't appear in the list.

Congrats on the officiel 1.0 release!
Got this in my inbox:

Phew, we got there eventually! The Mangle is still far from perfect, but I think it's ready for a 1.0 release.
I want to thank you all for your help, support and understanding through this rather long beta phase. This is my first commercial software release, and your help has been indispensable in fixing bugs, generating new ideas for features, and navigating the many complexities of releasing multi-platform plugin software. Thank you so much!
This morning I contacted several people about commissioning a few banks of presets, as I'm aware that's still a big deficiency. You will all receive the factory preset banks when they are done.
I have decided against including any sort of copy-protection. Every method was either a pain to implement, easily crackable, or both. The Demo version is a separate binary with preset saving removed. Your version can therefore be freely used on as many personal computers as you like. Please don't abuse this, my income keeps me developing this thing!
Releases will now become more infrequent, but they will not stop. And keep an eye on my website over the coming months, I have been working on something new which is progressing quite well....
Here are the updates:
**download** (Mac update, 11.4Mb)
download (Win update, 5.3Mb)
Or you can download the full release, which just includes 2 or 3 new presets:
**download** (Mac, 127Mb)
**download** (Win, 122Mb)
Changes:
- I wrote a manual! There's a link within the plugin on the Global Setup tab (under your license), or see here.
- Demo version available (no preset saving).
- Changed default waveform colours to grey to show grains better.
- Modulation edit preview is now accurate. It's still subject to the curve of the knob (which feels a bit unintuitive) but for the moment at least it truly reflects the modulation amount.
- Modulation intensity edits are now realtime - previously they only took effect when you released the slider.
- Fixed Rnd UI crashing bug (I hope... Let me know if you still experience this).
- Made it possible to set envelope attack to 0.0 - no more stray first grains when modulating position with an env.
- Added new loop speed settings that allow a constant speed regardless of loop length.

I'm waiting for Tom to get back to me on the presets. If we can come to an agreement (I'm sure we can) they'll be 50 of mine in there.
I'm thinking of making a brand new 50, different from the ones included in my sound pack of 350. That way people can get an idea of whether or not they like my work and get 50 presets not found anywhere else.
I'm going to run this by Tom and see what he says. It has been a very long and grueling process. I don't even know how many countless hours of testing time I put into this including coming up with the idea to have the wave files embedded in the patches so that the system won't have to worry about locating waves that may or may not be put in the right path on the computer.
It's been fun and frustrating but I think this is hands down the best dedicated granular synth out there.
Looking forward to doing work for it and Tom for a long time.

Since I have bought your presets I would much prefer they were new ones, not ones from the pack.wagtunes wrote:I'm waiting for Tom to get back to me on the presets. If we can come to an agreement (I'm sure we can) they'll be 50 of mine in there.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It'll probably take me about 2 weeks and should be ready by the beginning of July.aMUSEd wrote:Since I have bought your presets I would much prefer they were new ones, not ones from the pack.wagtunes wrote:I'm waiting for Tom to get back to me on the presets. Over many months, I have been hoping that Mangle would become a "musical" granular synth, and Tom Maisey totally delivered! Mangle has become an outstanding instrument. I believe that it leads the granular pack in musicality! Also, the handful of presets included in the full install help show a variety of approaches.

Oh crap, I was planning to pick this up before the intro price went up. What's the consensus? Is it stable enough?

I haven't a massive amount of time with it yet, but had a few sessions over the last few months and it hasn't crashed once. Easily worth the asking price imo a unique and fun synthSirKen wrote:Oh crap, I was planning to pick this up before the intro price went up. What's the consensus? Is it stable enough?

Wagtunes, is your preset collection working fine with the 1.0 version??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just installed and tested in MuLab and yes, it appears to be working fine. But please, it's a 1.0 release so back up your old dll just in case because there is always a possibility of bugs.klinik wrote:Wagtunes, is your preset collection working fine with the 1.0 version??
Thanks!
But so far, as far as I can tell, works fine.
** EDIT ** Just tested in Cubase 7 and works fine there too. I can try Reaper as well if you like. Those are the only DAWs that I own.
