I can't got into details since I don't want to give away too much. I need to spend more time exploring a few projects specifically and see good results before I make up my mind what to do.

From what I've heard of analog drum machine emulations (including from Roland themselves) I don't think they capture that "analog tone" very well. I always end up using samples since they sound better. Each voice (e.g. kick / snare / hat ) in these things is actually pretty complicated, at least as much cpu as something like the SHR or JPR models in The Drop if done properly which is why I don't think there currently is one, but I think it will be worth the extra cost for a more detailed emulation.

Based on the quality of The Glue and The Drop, I will buy just about anything else you make but I am hoping you do a synth next. Currently I think Monark is leading the pack in analog emulation but since it is very limited in features, I think you could easily surpass it.

+1 for a Drum Synth by Cytomic :)
Play it by ear

I tried bouncing tracks with the LFO2 stepthing inside Bitwig...either it's me or the plug, but the first run-through of the sequence was always wrong.. whatever i tried.
There is the Bitwig note-mod... i use that or note input now.
Also one can send the mod everywhere in the project.
Are you using Beat 2 or Beat 3 to trigger? Each host has very different song position information, so if it's not working in Bitwig I'll look into it and add some special cases to handle it. As a workaround you can record automation of the "TRIG" button just below the LFO2 power button, this will re-trigger the start of the sequence right on where you want.

Sorry, i am not sure, what i had set.
If i am the first, who mentions this..just assume, that everything is alright and that i made a mistake. Testing again asap.
Sound is great, + ..many options. :phones:
Thanks alot for the help.

Andy I tried to contract you on your site re a discount for existing The Glue owners. I read somewhere that there was a discount, but after adding The Drop to my cart, no discount was shown. Is there a discount?

I would like some clarification about the license. English is not my 1st language and I just want to be sure. From what I've read in the Cytomic License pdf, we receive five activations and then one more per year starting year six. If we transfer the license, the activation count is not reset. Is that right?

Also, is it possible to de-authorize a computer?

Andy, would love to see you get a synth out by year end if possible (basically: The Drop + Osc's and an ADSR vs ADHR). Beyond that, a drum machine sounds awesome. So does the idea of compressors and bucket brigade delays. My only concern with a hyper detailed, Cytomic model of something like a compressor or EQ would be the CPU usage. You did a great job optimizing The Drop, but if a compressor or EQ used a comparable amount of CPU, I'd only be able to run limited instances versus throwing one on every channel.

Quality over quantity my friend ;) !

I'm sorry for not replying but I may not have received your email during the transition to a new server. All customers that purchased The Glue for USD 99 through the web page are eligible for an existing customer discount of 30%. If you bought The Glue before I had a web page then I'll need to manually add you to the database. Please email me again and I'll sort it out for you.

You are correct, one authorise per year for the lifetime of the license, and if you transfer the license the current authorise count stays - it is not a new license it is a transfer of the existing license.

It is not possible to de-authorise a computer without using custom hardware like a dongle, and I don't use a dongle. So you cannot de-authorise once an authorisation has been issued.

What happened to this ? :
andy-cytomic wrote:Please email me directly if you want to discuss licensing and transfers, this thread is not the appropriate place for it. If you prefer to chat about it on a forum them please start a new thread. I have already asked this once, this is the second time and I will not ask again. Please keep this thread on topic - The Drop and resonant filtering is what is about.

Jayzus wept, the more you speak on these draconian measures the more my stomach turns.

So tell me, do pre-existing/long-term Cytomic customers get 'credited' authorisations for the years of existing use before you introduced these policies ? I.e, I've been a licensee of both your products for over 2 years before you concocted this scheme ... does my 'authorisation account' get credited 2 more authorisations or not ?

as far as not being able to 'de-authorise' computers without using hardware/dongles ... umm. you're wrong. or maybe you just mean not de-authorised 'enough' ? ...or that you can't do this yourself ?

Reason can do this, without a dongle, though perhaps they are using third-party code to do it. or perhaps you don't think it's secure enough ? I suspect there are other examples, but I just can't recall at the moment.

Erm, could be me, but I just don't see anything draconian about it.

Same. And I'm curious if this has actually caused a problem for anyone, or if it's all hate for something that hasn't happened.

Maybe something that could happen in the future. I'm switching to Win 10 soon. Also, my OS SSD is getting slower and slower on write ops, so I might change it before the end of the year. I would be at my 3rd authorization now. Only 3 remaining for the next 5 years. In 5 years a lot can happen in the computer world. If de-authorization would be possible I wouldn't be too scared, but for now I'll pass.

It's all just speculation.

And keep in mind this is just the protection that's built-in. I'm willing to bet that if anyone actually does run into this problem, they can email Andy and he'll help them out on a case-by-case basis. I don't know if you've noticed, but he's a really nice guy.
