Please Backup Your Camel Audio Software By July 7th

We would like to thank you for the support we've received over the years.

Camel Audio's plug-ins, Alchemy Mobile in-app purchases and sound libraries are no longer available for purchase. On July 7th, 2015, you will no longer be able to download any desktop products, documentation or access other information on the Camel Audio website.

We recommend you download all of your purchases and back them up now so that you can install them on new machines. To learn more, read How to Download and Backup Your Desktop Products. We have included a downloadable FAQ containing commonly asked support questions as well as product documentation.

Alchemy Mobile has now been updated to resolve an issue with restoring in-app purchases. Alchemy Mobile in-app purchases will continue to be available for download after July 7th. However, if you received mobile sound libraries for free as a result of purchasing the desktop version, then you should back them up before July 7th. To learn more, read How to Backup Your Mobile Sound Libraries.

Don’t hesitate to email us at support@camelaudio.com if you have any questions about downloading and backing up your software.

Thank you for choosing to use our plug-ins and sound libraries in your music.

Camel Audio
Official word from CA. They probably realized they'd run into legal trouble if they didn't do at least one mailing to say that they were closing. Bit late for browny points, but at least they're ticking the boxes now.

FWIW, I changed my user data to something anonymous before re-downloading so the watermarks would no longer refer to me if I ever choose to sell my copy. If you use a throwaway email adress you can cut all ties once it's sold.

So what happens on July 7th ?

Why is that such a significant date?

7 day of the seventh month in the year 2015

7 + 7 + 2 + 0 + 1 + 5 = 22

2 + 2 = 4

The Number 4

People with the lucky number 4 are usually endowed with excellent management capability :o Just like Camel Audio!

Now there's a very interesting idea. Actually, I think Sculpture is the most brilliant instrument in the whole Logic package...at least, it's the one that I have consistently found to be most useful for a lot of my own music. But adding some of the incredible versatility of Alchemy "under the hood" is a tantalizing thought.
Cinebient wrote:...and an more advanced ESX24 sampler included.
Yeah, EXS24 is pretty long in the tooth now, and is way overdue for an update. I mean, it still does what it does just as well as it ever did, but software sampler technology has moved on, and EXS24 is still stuck in the past.

If there's any really serious commitment to creativity left in Cupertino (sometimes I wonder), Apple might come up with an entirely new sampler instrument. But whether it will be an improvement is uncertain. So much of what they do any more seems to be change for the sake of change, at the expense of user-friendliness and configurability. Sometimes I think they've lost their way.

Anyhow, I still have Alchemy, I still love it, and I'll continue to use it as long as it works.

:D

I decided to just write the whole thing off internally as a loss, forget about alchemy, and move on. My personal psychology is such that I prefer it this way.

I did it the other way round. Only had Alchemy CM before Apple's takeover. Then purchased the full version and Dream Voices. Love 'em.

If you mean the note they left on their website if you happened to swing by, yeah, but that's hardly "telling" anybody. :D

It took one day to go viral, so it seemed to work.
