I have a small bundle of those. Pretty cool, & have a preface for each sample by some really geeky sounding f**ker.GaryG wrote:howzabout tracking down those sounds some geeky-type recorded of solar winds or something... funny drones and squalls picked up from the background radiation of the cosmos.

This thread hits a little too close to home...
I work for a rather large, well-known aerospace company. Right now I'm working on some interactive animations and the accompanying music for a museum exhibit on space exploration. Thankfully, it will be nowhere close to 3 hours! But I am suddenly reminded of the worst assignment I was ever given- last year, they needed me to do some music which would accompany a video at an awards banquet. More specifically, they forced me at gunpoint to create a 15-minute-long extended remix of "All Star" by Smash Mouth!
I actually kinda liked that song the first 1000 times I heard it...

Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Vurt,
Despite the lack of money being thrown your way, I do see this as a great opportunity for you.
Challenging? Absolutely - I'm sure 3 hours worth of stuff that you will be happy with is not going to happen overnight, and having done some film work, I don't consider 6 weeks a long period of time, given that you have a job, family, etc.
If it hasn't been mentioned already, I suspect Absynth and M42 Nebula might be serious contenders for this project?
Best of luck to you, and I hope some of it will find its way to the cafe.

I wasn't insinuating a realistic timeline, more like musically representing the calm before the storm, the storm, after the storm, way after the storm, & way waaaayy after the storm kind of thing.TennesseeVic wrote:Neat idea, but...sickle666 wrote:Assuming a belief in the Big Bang, I would split it up musically into the main phases of the universe's alleged development;

That's an easy one: I would let Wheel of Fortune http://www.flomo-art.de/se/ play for 3 hours
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.
