Yes, sorry, I forgot to tell this on our website.
Every around 15 minutes, the synthesizer is by-passed (output silent)

Not a problem. Really loving this. Most definitely going to get it but I do have a question.

I'd actually like to have Syn'X and Syn'X 2. I only have the demo version of Syn'X and it appears the the full version isn't even available for download anymore.

So, my question is this. After getting Syn'X 2, how do I get the full version of Syn'X? Is that still even possible?
Yes, of course !
Our policy is tofreely provide all the installers, including the previous versions (in case some changes happened and an old project would need to be totally recovered).
Some lines below the Syn'X 2 installers, you will find the full 1.1.1 version of the Syn'X (the last one). And a few lines below, there is a link call "archives" which points you to all the previous version.

As every version are sharing the same license (including the old version named "Synt..iX"), you can run all of them.

Best regards

Thanks Xavier. Really looking forward to this.

7 audio clips made with the new presets included in the Syn'X 2, with a few comments. A preset at a time, live playing, witch occasional use of the mod wheel and/or Aftertouch

Syn'X 2 PA RezBassLeg + BP Pad
Legato Bass + Pad. Creamy filter :)

Syn'X 2 SP Bass + Mute Plucks
A split pad + noise plucks triggered by the arpegiattor

Syn'X 2 PA Polyphème
A 3rd one. This one use the Advanced Edit Mode and will trigger different layers ( synthesizers ) in addition of the *main layer* when each note is played. It's a bit subtle on this example, and you can do some much more drastic things, but you can nonetheless clearly hear it.

Syn'X 2 ST CineStrings
Some spacious strings

Syn'X 2 SY Multiple Cards
A simple synth bass illustrating the concept of 'Syn'X 2 = Hybridation between a SYnthex and an Oberheim Matrix 12 with its multpiple cards'. Three really different synthesizers/Layers stack for this one.

Syn'X 2 SY Wave Sequence Warp
You can easily do some kind of *analog wave sequencing* with the Syn'X 2. The -monophonic- wave sequence is played by left hand, and uses four different synths/layers, while some standard chords with synced LFOs can be played with the RH.

Syn'X 2 SP Fruity DjAzz
If you think, like me, that split patches can generate some different musical ideas you just can't get with standard single, or even layered patches, the Syn'X 2 is cool for these kind of things. Here's a single patch with a split of a semi real bass and bright/clear keys. These patches can be easily programmed in Easy Mode btw. LtZ.

Somewhat related : Finally the (Hardware) Synthex 2 will not see the light :

""The elka synthex campaign on indiegogo has now ended. We're saddened that we did not reach the funding target.
This unfortunately means that elka synthex will not be coming back after all. We thank everyone who contributed and supported us.
..... ......
It would have been cool to bring elka synthex back."

Too bad, it would have been very interesting, if only to make more a/b clips :(

I opened my dusty wallet to purchase this - the examples all sound rather lovely.

But, the downloaded DMG file doesn't open. (see image)

When should we expect a fix?

cheers

Yeah, so I thought if the image was bigger then more people would see it. (retina capture)

Wow, the perfect bad timing! (on my side)

Got it, many thanks! :)

Just purchased. Another great addition to my XILS collection.

You guys gotta stop making great synths or I'm going to go broke.

As you're the lucky owner of the Syn'X, the Syn'X should have installed in the same directory where the Synx 1 was installed, and share the same preset directory. However, the Syn'X 2 will appear as a distinct synthesizer in your Daw. The new presets are merged in the Factory Library, that now includes around 300 professional presets ( as opposed to synths populated with community efforts )
Yes I was just wondering how to know which ones are the new ones? Maybe it would have been better to have a separate Syn'x 2 factory bank?

Was just fooling around and came up with this. All 8 layers were edited one at a time. Kind of quirky sounding but shows how versatile this thing is just changing waveforms and filters and adding a little mod wheel to the freq cutoff. This is all one patch played in real time.

Finished going through the manual of this beast and I noticed something very interesting. The arpeggiator was left out.

I figured out how it works so it's not a big deal but you might want to put something in the manual for anybody who might be a little confused.

PS - Absolutely LOVING this synth. Might be my purchase of the year.

That could be discussed indeed. For those who want to brwose only new patches, certainly. For those who filter by soundbank, or are new to the Syn'X 2, or are just in a pure production environment and don't care, probably not. For those who use any other couple of hierarchic criterias, well it doesnt matter. Anyway Stephen, just filter by soundbank, then by sound designer and select the humble me, and the new patches will show more easily.

Nice and thick :) For those who want to push things to the extreme : You can also automate the respective volumes or each layers, or even oscillators, via midi cc automation. And make sick morphing ( also possible with the different mod matrixes, but will use mod slots, and act in a relative way rather then absolute )

Thanks for pointing out the arp omission. The arp is quite intuitive to use. But it should be in the manual for sure.

I hope the -completely rewritten- manual will have given you a precise idea and good understanding of what is the Syn'X 2, and how to operate it not only in the eazy mode, wich is very simple, but also in the advanced mode.
