The performance pad is basically just an X-Y controller similar to those found on many synths. Apple wouldn't need to purchase an entire company just to have them in GB/Logic. Assuming that the performance pad is derived from the purchase of Camel Audio, I am positive that there is much more to be seen.
Well, at least on Alchemy, it was more than just an x/y controller. Anyways, as I wrote (but of course not quoted here), I expect to see more too.

Pretty much. Manages to suck AND blow at the same time. :(

Eff Apple! :tantrum: :tantrum:
Apple asked, Ben said yes.... why are apple the bad guys?

Do we really need to answer that?
actually, yes  most of us cannot even blame ben for accepting the offer, but it's f**king absurd to blame apple for offering

As in "let's buy an undesirable product line that has minimal sales that is of no interest to anyone" ?

Apple's business practices are what make them disliked so much, they tend to run rough shot over everything because they are so big they just can, bit like Microsoft 10 years ago. Thing is that in itself is just the way things are nowadays but Apple are worse than many because they insist on closed systems so they control the platforms completely. This does make their products more reliable but you lose the ability to have alternatives. Competition is difficult because Apple control everything. The original IBM PC opened that all up and allowed us to pick and choose our components. I like that. I do not want to have to always buy Apple because my whole life is Apple products but that is what seems to happen. As for Camel it was a great shame what happened and a shame they succumbed to the might of Apple.

What's so special about Alchemy's "remix" pads

I mean, every Sugar Bytes plug more or less feature some of the same functions

Not really, it depends what they promised Ben

So a dev has nurtured a labour of love product, getting tired, want somebody to continue the struggle, somebody comes in with big money:

Listen son, we are gonna take Alchemy to the next level, we're gonna put a lot of money into developing it, we're gonna make it the best synth ever!

...and then they don't :(

If you want to use metaphors, perhaps double check them so they make sense?

The expression is 'ride roughshod' (referring to a horse that's got its shoes attached with nail heads standing proud, to prevent slipping).

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

So you back the big guy over the little guy:

It's the little guy who's selling out

Is the glass half empty or half full ?

They used to remix just for me.

i understand the temptation to frame this in the context of good vs evil, and to side with the good/little guy, but i don't think any of that applies here

Numanoid wrote:It's the little guy who's selling out
so either he was taken against his will, or he sold out ?? i don't believe either is true, but then that's not a very sensational point of view

hopefully it's half full

I've used Apple computers for years. For 20 years they have been a good choice for graphics professionals. I'm about to buy a new Macbook Pro. They are excellent machines.

I don't particularly like Apple and I don't have an iPhone, and iPod, iPad or Watch.
