since i'm a trance expert.......
hey munch!
alright, first of couple of gripes - the cymbals at the beginning kinda got to me. i just don't like cymbal crashes without a kick drum behind them. the beginning itself was also a bit of a let down - let me explain. there was this pretty long intro and a really cool build up, but then the song kicked in with basically a kick drum and bassline - all just IMO, which means shit.
now, the swelling "frog" type bassy sounds (not sure what to call it in case you couldn't tell) where awesome!! there were some great samples throughout the song. i really liked the break a lot too. after the break at around 3:40 was my favorite part of the song. it just had a really full sound with all the elements going at once. i don't know enough to know what "cheese" trance is, but I know i liked this tune overall.

Thanx t-willy!
I really appreciate feedback - it's helps me a lot.
Maybe I should change the cymbal roll at the begining to a snare roll or some sort of woosh sound. I'll experiment.
What I might do in answer to the drum and bass bit you mention is introduce a bubbling arp or loop to make it more interesting. Perhaps adding some fx might do it also.
I glad you like the track overall. I like it but I can never quite create what's in my head (probably just as well.
) I've the tendency to ladeling everything including the kitchen sink on towards the end of a song. And my mastering ability leaves a lot to be desired. I enjoy doing it though and that's what counts I think.
Most of the sounds and FX (including the 'frog' sound
) are from Wired. If you haven't checked out Wired then it might be worth demoing it at your local music store. I'm not biased I just get 10% commission on every copy they sell (not.)

There's this sorta perc-sound in the right channel (like a pingpong ball hitting a bat) which needs a counter-sound in the left channel, so you can play with the listeners ear a bit.
This may be cheese, but I like it
