mh... about the prizes:
i'd need to carefully try the demo of both Wusik and Diversion... which it will takes me a couple of days.
So i'm asking to Hanz Meyzer if he could wait a bit for me to decide.... unless his prize choice is for something completly different, in this case he can pick his prize and let me be on hold for a while

I think z already picked Diversion so that's one option less for youParduz wrote:mh... about the prizes:

Congrats to all the winners.
All well deserved in this fierce challenge this time round.
The depth of great tracks goes way down the list.
Thanks to all those who left nice and useful comments on my track.
Last, but not least, thanks to all those who voted for me and got my track just over the halfway point - a happy person here.
dB

Hey Parduz, yes Diversion is already taken, so I guess your decision will be clear...?Parduz wrote:mh... about the prizes:

Congrats to Jasinski (a real story in this tune), z.Prime (so well balanced, impressive degree of professionalism), Photonic (Korg, did you listen to this?), Parduz and also all others. My personal favorite was Parduz one, it's pure 80s style like straight from an 80s racing game. Very cool.
Thanks to all here for the kind comments on SC. And thanks to bj for his solid work here and his always positive mood! Very inspiring for me. Of course I also like to thank Martin for this great synth. I will use it commonly now. I love the filters in the device. It's a real 80s feeling
And to the people who maybe are disappointed now with the results: I had a similar experience in last OSC I did (OSC71 Hive), but then I later realized, ok the voting is quite fair. I could have improved the song a lot, there was also a bass problem (mixing situation wasn't so good here and I was too used to the song already). What I learned from three OSCs is the following:
- Your song should very quickly catch the listener with strong emotions, atmosphere and/or power. This is something, IMO we can really learn by taking part here. The most listeners will not have/take much time for listening your tune. This is also a common problem (as you all know) nowadays, since the people are flooded with one-way music. This is also true for myself.
OSC71 I felt quite ok with my tune in OSC71, but not so the majority of listeners/voters. I explain this in the following way. I listened to the tune maybe 1000 times and heard lot of subtile things that you will be only perceive (in a exaggerated way), if listened so many times non stop to the tune. So my suggestion is here: After you did the major work, make a pause of at least 2 days. Do not listen to any music while this pause. Then listen to the tune with "fresh ears" several times a day and try to be open for self critics - is the tune really emotional or powerful? If the melody / rhythm whatever is now joyful for yourself, then I bet your tune will be joyful for others, too. If not, you should re-concept the work. EDIT: Or of course do not. It's just a fun competition. And let others listen to the tune, people you trust. Maybe this "hint" is obvious for you, only want to motivate you...
- Do not give up (But don't take part, if you don't like the synth, or you're unable since Win only
- Try to have fun! Also the composing should be fun. Don't start (like I tend to do) to microscopically fix things in your work that others won't realize anyway. Or stress yourself if you don't have fun with it.

wrong button
Edit:
BTW. since this was suggested quite a lot, I would highly suggest a more nuanced, but optional and private voting system for a bunch of categories like "composition", "mixing" etc. This would improve the quality and benefit a lot, imo. Or at least a private optionally anonymous comment line!

DOH!
Argh! I'd go with the Wusik Bundle without further consideration, then
.
Thanks guys for waking me up:)
Now, i want to thank again all voters and BJ for running OSCs

Hm, then I will pass my price to No.6, Syntax Project, since I like to make presets by myself
EDIT: Since passing the price to no. 6 is sadly against the rules, I take the Euterpe XL vst from Guda Audio. First thought, well I own enough synths, but then realized why not trying this software. Looks quite convincing!

Z, I could hire Jasinski to do my track for me and I'd still come in close to the bottom.z.prime wrote:Can always hire a ghost producer while you're perfecting your own craft. Worked for David Guetta!wagtunes wrote:What I would give to finish 25th in one of these.

Without a smile at the end, seems a bit unfair. I've even ceased to read the names of the track i'm voting (myopy helps on thiswagtunes wrote:Z, I could hire Jasinski to do my track for me and I'd still come in close to the bottom.z.prime wrote:Can always hire a ghost producer while you're perfecting your own craft.
