They're called zZz (yes, that's how you pronounce it, too) and they rox0r severely.
Just drums, organ and a mad tape-delay (1). Saw them yesterday and was blown across the river (yes, it was near a river).
(1) alright, some other goodies, too. But you get the idea.

When I was a kid, 8 or 9 years old, I had the idea that I would form two bands, Aardvark and ZZZ, just so that I could be the first and last entry in any rock catalogue. No more from ABBA to ZZTop for me.
Seems my plan has been defeated. I wonder if ZZZZZ is taken?
Haven't listened yet but will check out.
Cheers,
Steve

Damn! Good stuff! ...now where'd my B-4 plug get to?...
We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

Interesting
I had a few listens and liked the sample tracks. Vocalist/drummer(?) could use some lessons. He sounded good for the most part though.
I like the lyrics on sweet sex.

Not too bad. It's sounds like these guys been listening alot to the Doors.
The organs and (partly) the voice could be taken from a secret gig of the Doors

If I had a band, I would call them 'Free Beer'. Just imagine the crowd you'd get when you start putting posters up "Free Beer at..."shamann wrote:When I was a kid, 8 or 9 years old, I had the idea that I would form two bands, Aardvark and ZZZ, just so that I could be the first and last entry in any rock catalogue. Think so?shamann wrote:I had a chance to listen to the 3 tracks on their site. I like a lot. Only complaint is that the singer sounds a bit too much like Ian Curtis.
Hmmm.
Never listened to him that way.
Early Curtis, I guess, then.

No, no I meant the late Curtis.tetraplan wrote:Think so?

Poor taste, I know.
Of the 3 tunes, I thought it most noticeable on 'Sweet Sex'. Listening to it again just now, I find it less of a distraction as the other day. And not an exact copy either, as there's a bit of southern US swagger (like John Spencer), which is impressive I guess considering they're Dutch.

I expect these guys to listen to several acts that put the Raw in Rawk.
Someone made a reference to Suicide, too.
zZz are not that... intense (and I don't expect a Bruxellian audience to kick them off stage, either).
Hmmm. Alan Spencer?
Anyway, their stage show is pretty intense, what with the organ player doing the nasty with the Philicorda (interesting choise in organs, too- YES I said organ). I really regretted not bringing my camera with me last saturday.
