I am a staunch Android user and as such have no idea of a lot of things for iOS but will next weekend have a workshop on how to use your mobile devices for music making and will use apps that are both for Android and iOS-
Like Caustic,SunVox, Oscilab and a bunch of other nice apps.
The only application that I can not find for both platforms are a DAW-
Will use Audio Evolution (Android) in the workshop but need to know if there is a good alternative on iOS...
(And please refrain from Android and your opinion on how it is not possible to use it for music making etc as it is getting a little bit old...)

In my view, the two major choices are Auria and Cubasis. Personally, I settled on Auria and haven't regretted it. Auria Pro (there will be an upgrade option) is just around the corner too, and it'll finally support MIDI also. Auria's devs are quite approachable and responsive, which is a definite plus.

Best is such a subjective term.
Best value? Best effects, best midi implementation. Etc etc I don't think there is a one size fits all best Daw - though if Auria pro matches the hype it will be
Multi Track Studio might be a good comparison to Audio Evolution as they can both use sound fonts. And it has midi and audio recording
Best overall quality for JUST recording is probably Auria if you get all the plug ins but that then becomes really expensive. BUT it has no midi

At this rate it will be obsoleted by GarageBand for IOS9 with Audio Units before it even comes out. (Pure speculation!)

The first multitrack app I bought for iOS was "Multitrack DAW" by Harmonic Dog. It is a great entry level DAW. It is very solid as far as recording from multichannel interfaces, and also runs on the iPhone/iPod as well. I still use it all of the time and export the tracks to Auria if I need to do some advanced editing.

Hey.
Thanks for the help!
So this helped a lot so I do not have to wade through all the options.
Was taking a look at the three ones presented here-
Multitrack DAW, Cubasis and Auria.
My general impression is that Cubasis is pretty unstable and Auria can very fast become expensive with some added effects etc.
Multitrack Daw seems to be the most stable one with less options but I guess with Audiobus and some added in-app tracks it does not matter too much?
The people at the workshop will be mostly around fifteen to eighteen and not too much experience so think that Multitrack DAW will be the most useful in the sense of price, stability and ease of use if someone want to use something mostly for recording some tracks and if it can read soundfont files it's good to lay down something extra.
Thanks again.

Don't confuse multitrack daw with multitrack studio.
MTD has neither midi nor sound fonts. It does have a very clear UI though.

I am still using Meteor. Probably the best for older ios devices as it still runs pretty light on CPU and memory. Audio and midi capable. Good fx built in for assigning to busses. Lots of mixdown options. It's usually $19.99 unless on sale.

It's interesting to note how many more Options for a DAW there are on iOS compared to Android though.....

Yes when it comes to recording guitar etc audio latency on Android is not very fun! ha ha
But Audio Evolution have made their own solution if you use a soundcard and it works really well.
Now you can also get ToneBooster effects pretty cheaply and being the same as the VST's.
nTrack have also gone and done the same thing but the APK they sent me a year ago to test was a little bit too buggy for my taste.Admittedly it may all have been ironed out now.
With the latest Samsung devices you can get their Daw with low latency that they have incorporated for free (Just eight tracks though).
It also allows for some iOS apps if you pay some extra.
