- Oversampling option is back on, there's no longer an option to disable the lowpass downsample filter. I have optimized the code so it uses much less CPU usage even at 4x and 8x oversampling.
- Fixed the Search Preset, now it works.
- Fixed a crash problem with the reported presets.
- Wavesequencer Mode II, added Retrig option. By default a step will only retrig the sound if the layer or tune is different, or if XFade is above zero. Otherwise it will follow the Retrig option: Yes or No.
- Did some more optimizations on the code.
- Fixed more internal stuff.
- Audio Input is not working correctly yet, so is the Audio Looper. I will fix this next...
- Unison is working again.
Finally, it seems we're getting there in terms of sound quality. Have to perform some more tests, but now this starts to sound good :-)

I still would like that the GUI for the sampling module would be smaller, with the option to cal a bigger window if/when we double click to edit the samples/zones/whatever. Such big display just to wath the waveform seems a little useless to me. Even if you choose to leave it at the current size, the bigger editing window would be a good option, IMO.
I second that, it seems way too big and wastes space. :? It could be smaller, like even maybe half the size it is now, and then have a larger size for when you do the actual editing.

Yeah I commented on this a few pages back, if it actually did something a large size would be warranted but as it is the display serves no useful purpose.

In the meantime I've downloaded everything from the WS site now but am getting majorly confused by all the sound sets and how to match them up to preset packs. For example I have a 'Mega Bass' and 'Mega Pad' collection that don't seem to correspond to any presets, neither do 'The ElectroBank One', 'The Soundbank' and 'The Soundbank Plus' (are they essentially the same thing?). Plus lots of smaller soundsets, this lot really needs someone to sort it all out.

Good news. :) All of the patches that crashed earlier betas now load just fine in beta 42. CPU demand is a lot lower now so great work there. The patch I reported earlier as using 81% now only uses 34%. However that same patch only uses 16% in WS7 so it seems like there's still room for optimization.

I've got to test some patches in WS8 vs WS7 to see if I can reproduce the issue dnekm reported about the Wavesequencer re-triggering. :)

i have no problems with all the soundsets - in total 51 in my data folder. Most of the soundset folders and preset banks - in total 54 in my case - are same named.
But as aMUSEd already wrote, you can't see in a W8-preset directly or in a context menu, from which soundset folder the sounds are coming. In W7 and previous versions you can. I have hundreds of own created presets / preset edits. Many of them have sounds from various soundsets. And in W8 you cannot see from where they are.

Guys, I'm listening, some stuff I may not be able to change, as the interface, as I have my reasons, but I'm listening and will think about it. ;-)

I'm currently finishing up the Audio Input, which is working again, and more optimizations for the code, which are also working great. I should have new files today, hopefully.

As for the search still crashing, it shouldn't, but I will re-check the code to see why and test on my MAC too, as I only tested on Windows. :dog:

Cheers, WilliamK

Do you have presets for the banks I mentioned then because I only see the soundbanks?

William,

I sent you a preset and an explanation of the differences in the Wavesequencer between V7 and V8. X-Fade does not re-trigger the sample in V7 and earlier, in V8 it does. This has been driving me nuts so I made a very simple preset to go along with the explanation.....

Daniel, is there any way you can send me the patch by PM please ? I'd like to see what you're talking about because the Wavesequencers are the heart and soul of Wusikstation for me............ :)

I ran into the following in one of the earlier betas. I wonder if it's the same thing or related ? Maybe what you're talking about is what I was hearing.

Sure, just download it from here:

Here is the explanation I sent to William:

I think I have finally narrowed down the differences in the Wavesequencer and the x-fade between V7 and V8.

Open the attatched preset in V7. Look at W1. The notes all play for a single hit, whether they are selected for one step or two - except for the last one which has a different Tune value. Even if you apply X-Fade to the one with 2 steps - the sample is only triggered once.

Now open it in V8. It plays the same - until you apply X-fade to the one with two steps. You can hear the sample being triggered again for the second step.

I think that is what is dr9iving me nuts with some of my presets.

It's just that that waveform display takes up at least 1/3 of the display when in use for a preset... so it seems like it would better used for something else (?)

Let me know any presets you need. I will put them into a .rar file and let you download them.....

I have the presets for all the ones you mentioned above, let me know if there are any others....

Here you go:

In the Wusikstation folder are the Mega Bass and Pad presets. The other three are all in their own folders...

William thank you for Beta 42. For the first time in my experience, the installer loaded the VSTS properly. In the past I would get an error message on the VST files only and would have to move them into the correct folder by hand. But this time it worked perfectly! Thanks.
