My TV is taking up too much space so I'm thinking of using my PC for TV. I'm also wondering if I can get Freeview.
Anything I should be wary of / look out for in choosing one?

Leadtek products are very good. I have a Winfast TV2000 Deluxe and I really like it. 
But you can get a Expert version which is stereo.

I got a a TV Card for my new setup for the same reason. Having both a TV and big monitor is a total waste of space. I thoroughly recommend the one I got, which is a Compro VideoMate TVGold+ . For info, check out here:

they seem very clued up on what technology is good etc and they give a glowing review for this card and reckon its the best PCI option available. The Compro USB sounds very good also if you want something external.
The Compro VideoMate TVGold+ can be purchased from http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ for £35 which is the cheapest I found it anywhere. It doesnt have a Freeview decoder built in, but I dont watch TV, I just wanted it as a cheap but decent video capture device and so I can watch VHS videos through my computer. It does both these things brilliantly with very good picture quality. It even has Nicam digital stereo and an FM radio tuner.

As long as you don't use a motherboard with VIA KT266a chipset I don't know of any problems. Also most of the cards are pretty close to each other, so it should be pretty hard to make a bad buy.
