record button greyed out

Hello rapid composers,

I am very stuck with a probably very mundane problem.
No matter how many times I push it, the record button doesn't react.
I hear sound when I play the keyboard.
I browsed trough options and settings without succes
Please point out how ignorant I am, no offense will be taken

welcome to this forum!
The trick is you need to have a track selected to enable the record button. Please click on the track name or anywhere in the track header.
