i was thinking of getting a m audio 14 in/ ten out

i was wondering if i should get a echo indigo to throw in the my lap top too, or if i need to bother doing that.

any other suggestions for sound cards or what you like to use is welcome

I suppose it depends on what the quirks of your particular laptop are.

I bought a cheapo HP pavilion (4600 series). I mainly use a desktop pc for music--but wanted something that could handle traktor and Live for $850.

I have an Echo Indigo DJ (two stereo outs, no audio input).

A quirk of the HP, the pccard slot is starved on battery power...that is to say, the voltage is slightly reduced to save power when the mains is unplugged. So you really can't use the Indigo on battery alone. I wonder if the firewire interface would get around that feature.

Assuming your laptop has a firewire port.

or a pci type two card bus

cool, im just getting that fire wire one, it has a bunch of ins and outs and its not that big so it will be ah good

any one here use the hammer fall pc card thing?
with that you use the pci card to connect to an outer sound module card thing right, and that thing is pretty expensive and its pretty big too
