Apple has been cracking down on such labor violations.

If they have there's only one reason for it... Their practices are under the microscope again. Makes them look like they care - Public image and all.

with that kind of attitude they can't win.

if they do nothing, they're callous.
if they do something, they're cynical.

lose/lose.

Why would I want apple to 'win'? Prove to me that they actually care.
