Guys
If you're feeling ripped off at the inflated prices and general unavailability of Cakewalk products outside the States (and it is mentioned in a thread below) please come over to
www.cakewalk.com/forum
enter the Sonar forum and look for the thread on pricing and register you're dismay. The more the merrier. if you're already in there - keep it alive.
Regards
Graham

And here's an example of the problem....
'On Cakewalks website you can buy the upgrade from Studio to Producer for $99 and they will throw in free shipping and a copy of Sonar 3 Power. European Customers are not allowed to order from the website and have to go to Edirol.
From Edirol UK the upgrade costs £156 including shipping, that's about $280
So, $99 If Cakewalk would let you order direct
or, $280 for the privilege of buying from Edirol UK'
(even allowing for the tax you would pay on import , this a massive difference.)

Also, am I right in thinking that you cannot buy vst version of Sonitus plugins if you are in UK/Europe amongst other plugins.

I find this really annoying as one of the reasons I bought Sonar was because I was under the illusion that I would be able to upgrade to the vst versions as well when they became available. Cakewalk really need to get their act together - they were making strides in Europe with Sonar but since hooking up with Edirol they have gone backwards. I am tempted to upgrade my SX1 to SX2 and forget about Sonar altogether.
