If you don't want to lose an authorization, you do need to have an iLok. You would then transfer your activation from the computer to the iLok before formatting the hard drive. Then after reinstalling you would put it back on the hard drive if you wanted (but that's a less secure option, since HD can fail and you lose auth).xx JPRacer xx wrote:Seems very interesting, especially at the intro price.
I don't have an ilok but it seems it is possible to use the license manager without a physical ilok and you give 3 authorizations. Is it possible to de-authorize a system? With Windows 10 coming soon I plan to format my system and do a clean install. I wouldn't want to lose an authorization because of this.

Actually, Evil dragon is wrong. You can just deauthorize your computer, so the auth is put back on Pace servers, and then put it back when your setup is back on its feet. You don't need a physical iLok at any point.EvilDragon wrote:If you don't want to lose an authorization, you do need to have an iLok. To sum up, 3 auth on either computer or physical iLok which you can activate/deactivate at your convenience. Just need an Internet connection when doing the activation/deactivation thing.
Hope this clarify things

Ah, good. For once I'm glad I'm wrong.

Been working with the demo more and just purchased.
There's just so much that can be done because of the time adjustments to each tap (as well as the mode modifiers).
I do wish a link between wet and dry volume knobs, or a master output could be added, as well as an input volume.
The tap gains of course work great for taming loudness when driven too hard, but a master volume or link between the wet/dry setting would make things easier. I personally don't like to adjust the track volume setting until I've finalized my intended sound, so controlling overages within a plugin is always optimal for me (unless those overages are intentional and add to the flavor).

Are there any vst delay alternatives that work in a similar fashion to this plugin? I also like this plug, but not feeling ilok much anymore.

With this much control over the taps? Nothing that I've seen so far. Hopefully others will chime in, but this is the best laid out effect plugin I've used and its done in such a way that I can't understand why it hasn't been around forever.trusampler wrote:Are there any vst delay alternatives that work in a similar fashion to this plugin? Otherwise you are basically looking at any plugin that offers visual per tap control. Audiodamage has Ricochet. Xils Labs has LeMasque Delay, which I found to be very clumsy. You could include Bloom by FXpansion simply because they have a sequencer as a modsource which can lead to some interesting effects, but its not the same.
It might be worth checking out what Reaktor has on offer for ensembles. Obelisk by Artificial Audio should offer lots of flexibility as well.
But an iLok is not necessary, as PACE is all that is required, which I agree is a shit protection method that I wish disappeared long time ago, but I have an iLok 2 for PT, so that's the only reason I'm not complaining as much.

The other thing I noticed is that stopping playback in Live causes CPU spikes, 5-7% per each instance of the plugin.otristan wrote:We can maybe optimize the input silent case indeed although this can be tricky as it depends mostlylnikj wrote:The point though is that it is doing that with no audio passing through it? Just sitting on a return track with nothing else loaded in the DAW?otristan wrote:Relayer CPU consumption can vary a lot depending on its settings: Number of Taps, delay time modulation, FX used, FX modulation, Color settings.
A 32 taps with two FX activated with LFO modulated Redux and Vowel can indeed eat quite some CPU.
With great power comes great responsibility
on what is in the delay line which is always non silent when feedback is non 0, as well as FX and color tail.
Will check this though.
When only a single tap is initiated, CPU consumption is extremely low (even lower than AudioDamage's Dubstation) which I was curious if I could replace with Relayer (and I believe I was able to get the sound how I like well enough to replace Dubstation), but with x3 instances of Relayer each placed on their respective return track (all just 1 tap), stopping playback sends the CPU spiking up to 20%.
It is also important to note that no sound was routed to any of those instances of Relayer.

But Relayer sounds really really interesting.. definitely a powerful timesaver tool. (or time waster if you spend all day programming this thing haha)
hmmm...
Which I totally do.

Been mucking with both echoboy and relayer this evening... Relayer definitely takes the cake in interface and intuitive playing around. However, I'm finding neither delivers the high quality "same as source" output, particular in the high frequencies, as my good old faithful Timeless2, the first of all Fabs plugs I've acquired. Despite opening the filters all the way, wet sounds are dull compared to Timeless. Will likely pick Relayer up for guitar and other instruments but Timeless
still kicks their butts for pristine vocals, IMO...

Has anyone compared this with the eaReckon EARebound? Would be grateful for you comments.
