Very sad newsWe’re sad to report that the death has just been confirmed of Chris Squire, the widely-respected bass player best known for his work with Yes. Chris, aged 67, had been undergoing treatment, in his adopted home town of Phoenix, for acute erythroid leukemia.
RIP Chris Squire of Yes

Acute erythroid leukemia will take you out very quickly, he never had a chance.
I`m very saddened. YES were always very very popular here in Philadelphia and YES realized how much they are loved here. I can`t even guess how many times i`ve seen the band.
His passing will no doubt have a great impact on many Philadelphians.

From a Facebook group:
Ridiculously long progressive rock songs
1 hr ·
"This morning we would like to remember Chris Squire, who sadly passed away after a battle with Leukemia. Squire's 50 years in the music industry left us with some of the most magical music ever committed to tape, and we will never forget the memories we have all embedded in the songs he helped to shape.
While today is certainly devastating for all of us, we should use the sadness we feel to pay tribute to such an amazing musician. I for one will be listening to Yes today, with a sadness that was not there before, but also a newfound respect for the brilliance of Chris Squire, one of the greatest bassists of all time."

Brilliant, brilliant musician and bass player.
I also always admired his harmony with Jon Anderson.
Always unusual, playful, melodic, lyrical and inspiring!
Thank you Mr. Squire, for the lifetime of wonderous (musical) stories.........
