Shame. If you don't know who he is, listen to the bass on .

As an usher at the Music Hall(aka Wang Center) in Boston,Ma. during the 70's. I had the privilege of experiencing so many great concerts by artists of diverse genres. Yes was/is a masterful band. I feel lucky to have heard Mr. Squire and his band mates first hand. R.I.P. Chris.

Crap! Great bass player, and not to forget a damn good harmony backing vocalist.
Sad news.

I first saw Yes during the UK tour for Tales From Topographic Oceans, when I was still at school. They performed the entire Close To The Edge album, followed by Tales From Topographic Ocean and then an enchore of tunes from Fragile. It was an awesome experience for me, and probably the first time I "noticed" the importance of bass in modern music.

Seeing them do the entire Close to the Edge (Wakeman) and Relayer (Patrick Moraz) album tours were by far some of my fondest rock concert memories.thecontrolcentre wrote:I first saw Yes during the UK tour for Tales From Topographic Oceans, when I was still at school. I remember just a few years before, becoming aware of the Roto-Sound bass strings which were directly responsible, in part, for the Squire bass sound...not to mention some other influential users such as Greg Lake.
Squire and Lake were ground breaking to the progressive rock genre and not only as bass players, but as the defining sound. Squire`s sound for me, with his rolling, flying fretboard style, has him in a class by himself in rock history.
