I released an album lately via cdbaby. It was quickly indexed by google and I was happy with that as it only take a few hours. Then the next two sites that listed my album were both piracy sites. I told cdbaby my album was stolen and now published freely and they basically said 'see law enforcement and good luck with that'. They are probably right - some punks bought the album purely to rip off on their illegal sites.
My question is, how do I do a DMCA with google? Will it remove the pirate sites from google results around the world or just my source country?
Thanks for your help with that!

Cool. Has anyone had to do this before? (or is it a normal thing you have to do?!)
Does a dee-emm-see-a request G 00 gle to do a global removal? US, UK, Canada, etc. etc.?
Does Bing honor dee-emm-see-a globally too?
Why is KVR's spam filter so cruel?!

Just take it as a compliment, because someone found your music worth pirating.
Usually my beatport exclusive releases get pirated within a week, so before they even hit mainstream stores like iTunes or spotify and there's no way (worthwile) to stop it.
I'd say find a way to use the "free" marketing to your advantage.
It's just like with ware sites ...only difference is software developers rely on downloads ...for music it's streaming and gigs.
Welome to the jungle

i havent had to...but then again, i dont really see the point, and i offer my music as pay what you want...which includes nothing.
as far as the other questions...again i dont know...but if you read the thing i posted it says "...removal from Google's services based on applicable laws."
sooo...wherever the law is applicable.
id image bing (or any search engine) would be the same.
and everything about kvr is cruel. welcome aboard.
