I understand you can get very creative with this delay, but one of the things I do when I just want a bit of movement to my eg. synth lead is to have one delay line doing 16th notes panned left and another doing 8th dotted panned right. Is that possible?
Or would that require 2 instances running?

Post

Sure that's possible! Set it to two taps, pan them in opposite directions, adjust feedback and dry/wet level to taste.

Post

More specifically, you would set the main delay time to 1/8th notes, set the snapping in the time tab to dotted, then halve the timing of the first tap, and dot the timing of the second. They'll be hard panned by default, just enable panning on the Pan tab.

The result won't be the same as two separate delay lines: the timing of the second tap will be the time you set plus the time of the first tap. And your feedback will come from one tap or the other, not both as with two independent delays. But it's just different, not necessarily better or worse: it will still add the stereo movement you're after.

Damn it, this just has to be bought :)

Thanks for the help guys.

I guess I'll have to check out the trial.

Wait.... IIRs = Dan Worrall? Big thumbs up for your tutorials. More of those please :)

I presume this shouldn't be my 1st choice if I want to emulate tape-delay? Is it possible?

Relayer goal was not to emulate a tape delay, still you can emulate flutter using the modulation rate and depth knob, some saturation/filtering using the feedback parameters and it will pitch shift the signal when changing the delay time. There is some spring reverb IR as well in the color section.

This no RE201 though.

But the best thing IMHO is to try the free trial demo and judge by yourself.

Thanks for the info! Yes, I think the demo should be my best option. It's just I like to keep my system clean and I'm still not sure about installing the ilok "virus". It's really tempting though...

Two hd-auth enabled plugins have succeeded in getting me to run the 'virus' now, Zynaptiq's Morph 2, and now Relayer. Both too good to pass on.

Processing some splash cymbal accents with Relayer, automating delay time in LogicX, tweaking feedback and some FX settings on the fly.

Hmmm. Relayer VST is not showing up in Studio One 3 on my mac. Only the AU version. Anyone else have this issue on mac?

Nope, it's showing for me, check your blacklist.

Yup, that was it. Thanks.

Love this thing.

Simon, in your videos, is the visual glitches on the interface because of the recording or the interface is really that glitchy?
