I got my e-mail and placed my order this morning. I'll install tonight. I've been looking forward to this for a while!

I would think you could do it with ardour or jack, but haven't found a way as yet.

The version of ardour4 i tried just created one track with all of the outputs tied to that one track...sort of like a 32output surround track, with no way to break out the separate outputs/pairs.

Does anyone know if you can sidechain vst's?

Ardour is a very impressive example of software design as relates to the channel strips and routing and metering and plugin staging. They built it with everything a good professional audio daw needs, meter switching, flexible routing, easy drag and drop plugin and fader staging, monitoring that works like real recording consoles.

Very impressive, the design. Goes to show what can happen when a newish workstation has directed design focus and isn't trying to be all things to all people.

Got the email. I'm in no hurry to upgrade. I got the impression that up to v2.5 the programmer(s) had zero background in music technology. Simple things like setting BPM just seemed to be so bloody complicated. If they released a VST version of their Harrison EQ etc I'd take a look.

The BPM thing was one that disturbed me as well. Hopefully they will change that (or maybe it already is) so it can be entered within the BPM readout like every other DAW out there.

Well it keeps crashing each time I get to the Audio Settings screen just before loading the session (Win 8.1). Exact same problem as Ardour 4. It's the last time these guys get my money.
There're always troubles with their DAW, that's a shame. We're at v3 and it still has some incompatibility/instability problems. Very disappointed here...

You can now enter/edit the tempo by right clicking on either of the clock read outs. You can still also edit the tempo directly on the tempo ruler as well.

So they say they don't provide a demo version, but the full version can run in demo mode (with occasional noise) if it's not licensed...

Ah... that makes sense because (obviously) the installer is just a file that anyone can share regardless if one is not supposed to do that... and the other option would be to just not run or work at all unless a valid license is present.

And no

... I'm not going to be... unethical? ... and ask someone here who bought it to share the installer with me so I can demo it... since they apparently don't want that or they'd just post it on their website.

I actually might email them and ask them to give me one though.

Haha that's really hilarious that there IS a demo but not available

Mixbus 2 crashed a lot for me so i sure would like to test version 3 first. Yes, it's an investment of time to learn a new DAW and all that ..... but that investment of time should not be of compatibility testing!
I LOVED the sound of mixbus2 and it's mixer. Everything was really well laid out with lots of feedback. Built in side chain compression.. nice!

I googled for mixbus 2.5 as i wanted to see what had changed in that version. There was a forum with the announcement of that update with a download link to it (you still need a license):

Question for those of you running Mixbus 3, is it possible to undo changes such as fader movements in the mixer console?
I searched the Harrison forum and could not find the answer.

The user manual lists undo as a common function; however, it does not go into much detail or specifics of what can be undone.

I will assume undo will undo the last several changes made; however, it will be nice to know for sure. Perhaps a v3 user will respond.

There are a lot of key command/mouse command functions availble to the user. Actually quite impressive the amount of control available.

It does not appear that you can undo mixer changes.
