Yeah, go check out the reviews and the specs. All are used or refurbished and the reviews on them are horrible.

Thanks. I'll pass.

Such a surprise. "Its the most importantest thing ever except exception, exception, exception, didnt want it anyway."

Funny you went right to the Pirate thing........

I was just thinking of what was keeping us from selling to each other here......other than of course your personal info is included in the plugin.

It never crossed my mind that someone would upload it anywhere........ :?

I have no interest in selling mine but you never know what the future holds....it's nice to know that in an emergency you might be able to sell it on to someone you trust.

I wonder how many people who sold theirs in the Marketplace recently actually deleted Alchemy from their systems.......
Why would they? It appears there is absolutely no reason to. There is no company to answer to anymore. There is no online authorization. There is no checking for duplicate emails or serial numbers or whatever. There are no consequences to selling your copy and keeping it anyway.

Having said all that, I'm still not buying a piece of software (even if I COULD get it from somewhere) that is going to be obsolete once no more operating systems that are still in existence can run it. It might be 10 years from now but eventually it's going to happen with no future support.

Or I suppose you can still get Windows 3.1 and Apple DOS and find a machine that will actually support it.
I suppose the only reason would be to move away from software that could eventually become incompatible, but then again low risk.

I still love that they allowed the transfers for those that still wanted/needed to acquire camel products. I just wish that they allowed the soundbanks to be bought/resold after support ended. Although, I get it... No reason for them not to be propagated across the dark and mysterious corners of the web if they did remove that restriction.

Still its a shame. Yeah, you could sell to a friend you trust for all the reason already mentioned, but as I understand it, users are tied to the existing libraries they currently own and there's no way to ever complete the catalog (for those with the souls of collectors).

Perhaps they would delete it because that would be the morally correct thing to do?

My downloads from July 6 have no personal data like mail and address embedded, just my name. Guess I could reach celebrity status in a second...

I dedicate my post number 666 to Apple.

Great...now i have officially my first real antique software synth with the complete (official) libraries :)
I don't care now how long it will run. It still works like the first day and maybe it will live longer than myself...
And even it will stop working i could use all the samples in other tools.

Alchemy is the reason I don't buy Omnisphere. I paid 100 for mine, wouldn't sell it for five times that. Really. The plugin opens up for me more and more each time I program it, a bit like Blue II in that way. It is an amazingly eclectic tool. If you don't have it and can get it for under 200, scoop it up like there's no tomorrow.
Ha ha suck it!

i went straight to the pirate thing because it is absolutely worth thinking about.; it really is the last place you want your email address tied to, but could easily happen. maybe you find someone you kinda trust here to sell to. then they think there's no harm in sharing with their best friends (easy when there is no authorisation). until it all spins out of control, and your email is embedded in the latest crack doing the rounds

had camel not removed the users name from the gui, a few years back, you might even have seen your name on some random edm artist's screen, during some fm "in the studio with" :scared:

if you have it now, keep it that way

i actually sold all my libraries, then ended up buying some content back when i realised i'd probably really end up missing it

You need there to be "consequences" before you do the right thing ? :?

You're hanging out with the wrong people. Those I hang out with don't download or upload anything to pirate sites........

There are people here who I know would never share Alchemy if someone sold it to them.....because they have morals.

So I guess if you buy a DVD in the store, you never bring it to a friend's house or maybe a social gathering at your church or wherever to show it to others. Because you do know that's technically pirating. They didn't pay for the right to view that DVD. Only you did.

Please don't lecture about morals unless you are in fact 100% squeaky clean, which I seriously doubt.

Guys. We've managed 358 pages on this epic thread. Please don't get it locked now (even if it deserves to be, for other reasons!).

I just hate it when people start lecturing about morals. You know what they say about glass houses.

And with that, I'll just drop it, even though this thread should have been locked up tighter than a drum 7 months ago.
