What are the modulation busses? Is it going to make it easier to get at modulation?
Sorry for the delayed reply stickygum. I've only just noticed your post.

I don't know for sure what the modulation busses will allow or how they'll be implemented, but I'm hoping they'll provide options for combining multiple modulation sources additively and/or multiplicatively. Then you can choose one of the (hopefully ample amounts of) mod busses as a source in the main mod matrix. Hopefully you can save mod buss setups too.
Also, there's a limitation with the current mod matrix whereby you can't modulate a mod matrix amount which is in turn modulating another mod matrix amount. For example, if you have an LFO modulating something, then have an envelope modulating the LFO's mod matrix amount, that works, but now if I also want to modulate the MM amount of the envelope it will not allow it.
Hopefully the mod busses will provide a way to do these kinds of mod setups.

EDIT: It would also be cool if you could select the modulation precision, i.e varying degrees from control rate to audio rate, a bit like Dune 2, but for each buss or even each mod source in a buss. 8)

I just tried the mac beta. Well done on the cpu! It's very low now.

I'll definitely be considering this synth once the final release comes. Granular would definitely put me over the edge. By the time that comes I think I'll own it for sure.

Hmm this is strange. For me here CPU load has barely changed. Using FL Studio 12.0.2

EDIT:

I saw this recommendation for FL Studio, unfortunetly you actually have to TURN On Allow Threaded Processing
"For correct sounding of Spire highly recommended the following settings:
1. Disable - Allow threaded processing
2. Enable - Use fixed size buffers
3. Check "Use block size as buffer size" in option menu"
Now the CPU is load is really great, good job Reveal Sound!!! Excited to see the new version :)

This is crazy...27 instances running and only reaching 58 percent of CPU load while previously 8 was maximum :D well done again!!

any success story with midi learn on spire. (not forgotten after re-open)

i tested on windows 8.1 daw sonar producer 8, vsthost, my friend tested on windows 7 cubase elements 8
and no luck. midi learn work but after re-open project forgot all controllers assign.

Just to make sure I'm getting what you're saying correctly. You're saying that performance is improved when running it in FL WITH Threaded Processing Turned On? I get the same thing, glad to hear I'm not the only one. I'd be interested to hear why Reveal recommend people turn it off.

So will this work in other hosts that allow threaded processing too (eg Reaper)?

what about midi learn & forget :) this is the must. first time i see even free simple vst synth midi automation not work past 10 years. still not catch 10 years ago ni pro 53 midi automation. how can i pay for this synth. yes sounds are good but can not automate midi keyboard controllers yet. so strange

The world has moved on from manual midi mapping. Every single parameter and button and menu item is host visible and automatable, meaning that everything can be controlled through host mapping. One of the very few complex synths that exposes every single parameter on the GUI.

The beta is slightly more efficient on CPU by default. However, if I turn off anticipative FX processing in Reaper, the beta uses only about half CPU of the original Spire. I have not played much beyond that with it.

i'm deal with that. so 2 question: 1. why spire have a midi learn button / function ? 2. manual mapping is ok for automation, i can create envelope and assign any parameters of spire parameters. but can not live control via midi keyboard knobs.

again : is there anybody success with spire midi learn button ? (without forgot)

absolutely agreed, +1

Not quite sure if it's the same thing, but i have multi processing activated in Cubase, and Spire 1.1 takes about 1/3 of CPU of what the former versions did. So i guess the answer would be "depends".

Can't help with that. If there is a midi learn button, surely it should work, so maybe ask the developer? I was just saying that pretty much every host lets you midi learn the parameter directly via the host so that you don' have to do it through the plug-in itself.

OMG!!! Now I can finally use my Aiyn Zahev Altitudes soundset with full confidence that I won't send my computer to the Emergency Room. Just a little bump for this great beta.
