Can anyone who has bought Fog Convolver confirm it comes with a licence key?
I just bought it from Plugin Boutique and in my account it states "No further authorisation of this software is required. Download to your computer and install" which seems to be incorrect as i'm being asked for a licence.
On OSX 10.10.4
I've contacted PB and AudioThing by the way. Just curious if anyone else has had an issue.

Hopefully Plugin Boutique and Audio Thing won't take forever to fix this up.

So... what does this thing do that other convolution plugins wouldn't?

Speaking only with respect to my time with the demo, what encouraged me to pay for it is the ability to easily drop an audio file in, stretch it and shape the envelope / filter with clear visual references and good output quality. I think the output sounds better than the Ableton / Max4Live Convolution and it's about as easy to use as that. Reverberate was my previous go...to... convolver and it's incredibly fiddly.DJ Warmonger wrote:So... what does this thing do that other convolution plugins wouldn't?

I will just quote myself from the first page:
You can additionally read through these pages or check the reviews that I just added to the product page: http://www.audiothing.net/effects/fog-c ... r/#reviewsaudiothing wrote:As others said, the interface is simple and easy to use to edit the samples. Most of the other convolution plugins I used were rather "clumsy", too simple or very expensive.
The Factory Bank that contains more than 250+ impulses from analog gear to organic stuff.
You can easily organize your presets and make your banks with the preset browser (categories, tags, rating, ...) which I don't think other convolution plugins have.
Of course Fog Convolver is not a new concept per se, but rather the way I see a convolution plugin should be.

Check out this wonderful video by Don Bodin:

Meanwhile, I just realised I introduced a bug when reading an IR with different samplerate from the project. If the Stretch slider is set to 1x I will not scale the IR according to the samplerate. A temporary fix could be to have the Stretch to a very small value like 1.01. Anyway, I'll fix it ASAP in the next update. I already added a few of the suggestions I've got in this thread but of course I'll give priority to this bug. Tomorrow/day after tomorrow should be ready.

Exactly my experience too.secretkillerofnames wrote:Speaking only with respect to my time with the demo, what encouraged me to pay for it is the ability to easily drop an audio file in, stretch it and shape the envelope / filter with clear visual references and good output quality. I still prefer Space designer overall (which is also as easy to get good results with and has algorithmic reverb too) but that's Logic only.

Update v1.1.0
– Added single Parameter Lock
– Added top bar button tool tips
– Preset browsing with arrows from both the combo box and the Preset Browser
– Cmd/Ctrl + Click will not reset the parameters when trying to fine tune them
– Fixed samplerate conversion when loading IRs with different samplerates from the host
– Fixed a couple of GUI/menu visual errors
Existing customers can update the plug-in by downloading and installing the demo version at the bottom of the product page: http://www.audiothing.net/effects/fog-convolver/
Just be sure not to install the Factory Bank again as it will be a lite version.

Enjoy and yes, that was necessary. I'll probably add this feature for all my plugins.vic_france wrote:Nice update.. thank you(especially glad to be able to lock the dry signal down to zero

I know it's my own fault but I tried to load a strange aif file onto fog. The file had 4 tracks , left and right and 2 mono tracks. Fog choked and crashed reaper.
A question about warmverb - I seemed to have worked out that the preset I like actually has 260hz amplitude modulation. Is that possible with an impulse response file? I have to tried to sample it with a sinewave sweep and to deconvolve it with the amplitude modulation preset (from warmverb) but I don't think the impulse response included it (the amp modulation)? Is it possible to build that sort of modulation inside fog?
