So I checked their website what all this teaser stuff is about, then I see this statement posted earlier this year.

What a total load of cobblers, forgot to install their license, yeah right

Talk about giving someone a whitewash because they are the flavour of the month

It has come to our attention that lately more and more websites seem to repeat the 'news' articles about famous producers getting caught using pirated software. They show videos where Avicii, Steve Aoki and Martin Garrix are using illegal copies of Sylenth1. We'd like to share our view on them.

First of all, we like to point out that every single one of these producers actually DID purchase a legal license for Sylenth1 years ago, some of them even before they got famous. It is of course very unfortunate (you could call it stupid even) that they used pirated copies in their videos, possibly because they forgot to install their legal licenses, or were simply too lazy to do so. However, none of them earned big money with pirated software as these websites claim.

Piracy obviously is a major problem for our company, by missing revenue to invest in further development and otherwise because cracked versions usually are buggy and unstable and give wrong impressions of the software.

Also, these videos have been dwelling around the internet for ages already. Spreading this ‘news’ over and over again just sets a bad example and makes it seem like we don't care about artists using illegal copies of our software. Believe it or not: We DO care and we DO take legal actions against piracy.

Well, I don't think that there will ever be a new Sylenth version.

On the other hand, it still sounds amazing, still plenty of famous producers (Flume ?) use it to create fresh, interesting music.

Yes, I would be happy about certain new features, but by and large I am happy with its sound and features. I don't need Sylenth2, either.

In their support forum I think they did start asking about what new features people would like to see so it seems like they were at least thinking about future improvements, but with the pace of the current update it's probably best not to even think about it anyways. But who knows, maybe the Mac 64bit thing has just taken too much of his time. I know it was a pain for other one-man-shows. And maybe once that's done we'll see some additions after that, you never know.

Sylenth1 v2.0 was released 7 years ago, you haven't got it yet?

I suppose they would change that like in Saurus 2 or Dune 2.

I don't know why they added the 1 to the name in the first place, frankly, looks ugly without a space and implies there will be versions 2, 3 etc.

I don't think LD intended 1 to indicate the release number.

Sylenth1 sounds a lot cooler than Sylenth2. Being The One is better than being No.2 anyday of the week.

Um... Sylenth1 is version 2.21. And no, that's not Sylenth2 v1.0... Who knows if they would even call it Sylenth2. Maybe they even call it Sylenth1 2.

As far as I understand, Sylenth1 is the name of the synth, like M1 by korg for example, and I don't think his name will/should change. If some update comes in the future, I think it will be Sylenth1 v3 or something.
