Tried MJUCjr and compared to 176 demo from Zen audio Clipolator. Does not sound 100% alike, but it was a first time I didn't have feeling plugin being "lesser" to hardware, just different.
So a purchase made!

Let this be known from now on as the "Budde theorem" or the "QLC theorem" (analog to the CAP theorem) :D

It basically says nothing - it's just a tautology since it's all relative...

How long is the intro offer open for?

at least a whole month.
That said, DC8C and SDRR also had its prices marked as „intro offer“ at launch. And I really planned to increase the price after a few weeks, but never had the heart to do so, since I really want to keep the plugins as affordable as possible. This will likely happen with MJUC too.

But if the price really goes up, I’ll announce that early enough.

Bought! I normally use Slate's compressor's, but I see myself using this for added character. Sounds super smooth and warm with my VAs. Great stuff Tony.

Tony,

What a classy way of doing business. Thank you for these great products at affordable prices. I've been looking forward to your next product for a while, so I bought a copy this afternoon. Sounds awesome so far.

Great job!

Another excellent plugin from Klanghelm.

Classy, indeed... how can you not show support?

This will complete the Klanghelm collection here.

Yay!

MJUC Jr, really really clean sound and musical. Auto time setting is great, they are all pretty great. The input gain (or gain reduction) gets thrown off a bit with the different modes, but it shouldn't be too hard to find the sweetspot, when setting it on the desired timing in advance.

Unfortunately I had to bump down my sample rate to 48k to even use it in real-time on my old computer. One instance at 96khz took a whole core and caused me stutters. IDK if I can go for the full version because of that, but great GREAT job regardless :)

2nd day of tests (and simply having a play) with MJUC and it's growing on me... Sure, the high CPU makes you want to use it less but I'll definitely use it on some busses as well as some main instruments like vocals or acoustic guitars.

Really lovely, smooth-fuzzy-smooth compression and tone.... love each and every MK, has it's own character and it's a pleasure to dial in settings too!

Some things/questions:

-I think I noticed a serious bug regarding CPU hang/buildup while playback is stopped in FL Studio, where do I report?

-I'm curious on what precise models where referenced or what aspects of compressor models where aimed for like from what I can tell:
The MK1 is a Fairchild emu?
The MK2 is a UA 176 emu?
The MK3 ???

what about the Sta-limit or Manley vari-mu? ...does MK3 have something to do with them more or less?

-The density and istage, although I kinda understand what they do, can you give some tips on how to notice them more easily? Maybe some workflow directions on when should we tick them on or off?

-How to you pronounce the name and what does it stand for? ..I though it would be cool to read it like "nuke" but with an m :D as it makes sense

A suggested improvement: I like how the bottom part with the extra settings can be switched in and out of view neatly.

How about applying the same concept on some other (basically) "set and forget" options on top not to crowd the image with stuff like: image size, calibration etc... or simply moving them down below perhaps?

Quoting Klanghelm's MJUC official page.

"Model Mk1 is based on the very early variable-mu* designs from the 50s."

"Model Mk2 is built upon the more complex designs of the 175 and 176 from the early 1960s, the all-tube-predecessors of the classic 1176 FET compressor."

"Model Mk3 is the least colored and most Hi-Fi-sounding model in MJUC. It is Klanghelm's modern interpretation of this compression topology."

Fantastic!

Love the way Tony added the "tooltips" appearing when your mouse is passing on a specfic knob of function. Fabfilter-ish trick here, very useful and it skips the back and forth to the manual when mixing.
Hope that this kind of improvements will be added to the other Klanghelm products, could be great.

Just bought the full MJUC based purely on the raving reviews here :) Bit of a cheeky question (and possibly one that's not easily answerable), but if I have this and have also bought the GE edition of TDR's Kotelnikov, is there a 'need' for DC8C - What can DC8C offer where the other two might be lacking ?

Think I've got a bit of a plugin addiction !
