Sorry to be harsh, but that is so. People who really do impressive stuff just do it, they don't complain about how shitty others music is, or bash whole genres. Only untalented fools do that. Sorry for the harsh words.
100% the truth. Musicians don't bash musicians. Period. There is just way too much of this EDM bashing. People can have opinions yes, I get that, but it goes overboard most of the time into some weird kind of hatred or loathe. I'm not into Country music or Polka Farting music, but you know what? I would never put any of those genres down or it's artists. Why? Because it's music and I can appreciate the efforts of those people. This is the way they express themselves and I believe in the end, that that is really cool whether I like it or not. Even if I don't like the genre, I can appreciate it still, because it's music. I think there are way too many jealous people who hate the fact that others have achieved huge success producing EDM. That's all it is. Why do you think they're successful? Because they're popular. That doesn't account for anything? Just because one believes a genre sucks, no one else can like it? I really don't get that. I wish people could open up their minds just a little bit more than that. Please.

But what if someone doesn't consider it music, and the people behind it not musicians? Then it's OK to say it sucks salty chocolate balls, right?

Just playing devil's advocate here (representing myself of course). Not saying that it's my opinion or anything... but if it were my opinion.... it would be THE ALMIGHTY opinion! Because I am THE GOD OF GODs! I am SATAN's DEMON!
But sometimes I like conversing with you puny insects. So there's that. 8)

Then that's THEIR opinion, I assume.

Well that would be extremely narrow-minded then, wouldn't it? Of course it is music, and of course they are musicians.

I feel like that's the point where calling FL Studio a "toy" also comes in. It all makes sense somehow. :) People who don't like the music calling it no music, and the people who do this no music use a toy. Yes, it all comes down to narrow-mindedness.

Well, it all depends... give me an example and I'll check if I have their contract, written in blood on human skin. :hyper:

Can you be more contadictory?

It turns out Mike Patton is not a musician! And he's actually bashing one of few sort of retro classic rock bands that could pull this time travel thing without sounding cheesy and plastic as @$&%.

While we're talking about EDM and how musicians don't bash other musicians, there's a pretty hot topic in the last few months of Diplo and his constant bashing of other EDM musicians which culminated in his recent critique of Zedd's new album and how Diplo claims he wastes his potential so much on cheap tunes whereas he could do so much more. And all that coming shortly after a Justin Bieber collab... I'm sorry did I insult anyone's feelings? I just bashed Justin Bieber

So in defending a genre of music, 2 guys here create reality in which musicians are somehow unhuman and devoid of negative emotions towards things they don't like. How's that defense go when one of the leading characters in EDM is the posterboy of music bashing recently?
Orbit-50 wrote:Just because one believes a genre sucks, no one else can like it?
When did anyone suggest anything like that?

There's this thing called having an opinion. Respecting someone elses probably also means not saying stuff "I wish people could open up their minds just a little bit more than that" every time when you meet an opinion different than yours, so there goes a consistency again :)

You don't like some stuff that I like, I don't like some stuff that you like, every person is at least slightly different. Criticizing things is also important unless someone makes a habit of doing so just for the sake of it, and in every form of creativity (like writing music or even writing comments on the internet) rejecting is as important as accepting because we have to plow through daily junk to get to the things that are really important to us.

If anything is immature here, it's saying that if someone considers something subpar then he must be jealous or elitist, or in other words "how dare you criticize something I like?" - because that's the gist of it.

Mike Patton can have whatever opinion he wants, I hope we can all agree on that one at least ;P

Morrissey built a career doing just that :hihi:

Would rap have been so big without the east coast/west coast feuding in the 90's ?

Brian Eno sounds pretty dated to me, however, that's just my opinion. I rest my case.
Some of his work is OK IMHO. But dated sounds like there is supposed to be an expiry date on it.

Hey quick question! Can someone tell me if music like this here in the video can be made Live in FL Studio?
