I was searching in the dealer's website here in NZ but couldn't find it! I thought to ask here before contacting the dealer and ask about it!

I really thought to buy the keyboard version after few months to replace my Oxygen keyboard and also because I love Largo, so Blofeld seemed a great choice for me.

So, is it discontinued? That would be really sad :(

Oh thanks to remind me of South Pacific Music. I think they are the main distributor for Waldorf and other brands here. I was looking in http://www.musicplanet.co.nz/ as they had it last year when I checked.

I will contact them then :)

Music Planet don't seem to hold a lot of stock lately and most of the 'tech' stuff they have in stock is usually also on TradeMe. Look for seller 'dj_culture'

dj_culture in TradeMe - noted it. Thank you.

I haven't received email from South Pacific Music yet. Anyway, I have few months to decide.

Indeed. I do not think they will discontinue it until they have a successor for it.

Great :) I'm going to buy it hopefully next week :D

I visited the website and downloaded the manual. I wonder how the software integration with it? Is it recognized by Cubase or/and Reaper. I mean as a midi controller. I don't think there is a software utility for it? Or does it integrate with Largo for example?

So many exciting questions!

You could check the Monstrum Media MonstrumFeld editor. Here is a screenshot where i used a custom sample (Virus TOI Hypersaw from teh TI desktop i sold recently) and a custom wavetable (second picture shoews the mod matrix):

Unused or switched off features are greyed out in the editor.

The editor is availble as standalone (which i use mostly) and a plugin. I also got the Pulse 2 editor called "MonstrumPulse". The developer also got one for Waldorf Streichfett but i do not think i really need an editor for that.

There seeme to be several Blofeld editors AFAIK, both commercial and free.

commercial ones are those (including MonstrumFeld):
- http://www.rekonaudio.com/products/wald ... 0?sef=hcfp
- http://filthyfilterz.com/

I do not own the Rekon one yet (most expesnive one and this could also edit multi programs...). The Synnys one is for Standalone (with Max runtime) and Max 4 Live only.

Had lots of problems with the Synnys Blowfield editor, especially with the connection to the synth in the plugin but did not get a reply from the developer yet. Standalone seems to be better.

Also found 2 issues with MonstrumFeld but the developer seems to work on it. One is that the Amp envelope Decay knob is not properly displayed at the editor. While it loads the correct value from the patch the editor always dispalys the same value. Sending changes of teh Decay fro mthe editor to the hardware seems to work.
Another problems seems to be that the Amp envelope Decay value is not properly saved wit ha project in hosts. (e.g. Live 9). The saved value seems to be shorter. This is best noticed with more percussive sounds.

Concerning Largo there is no integration and there are also a few differences between those 2 synths.
They also do not sound 100% similar. Tranferring/Reprogramming patches from Largo to Blofeld actually was more difficult than i thought.

Oh wow! Thank you so much Ingo for the information :) I really appreciate it.

I think mostly I will need the VSTi editor. It still priced reasonable so mostly I will buy Rekonaudio one.

I found some files in the 'tools' submenu in Waldorf's website that have a definition file for Cubase. This is great as I have Cubase Elements 8, so I will keep it for using with Blofeld.

Ok then, I'll go to sleep now (and I'm so sure I will be dreaming about tweaking my future white Blofeld, Oh boy! I'm more excited than when I first got married :hihi: )

Class compliant USB MIDI, in and out.

Post

If a midi interface is correctly installed in an OS (somewhat "recent"), then all DAW software can use it.

Post

Thank you :) Yes there is also the midi implementation info as well. There is also a definition file to be used with Cubase and Sonar.

I'm reading the excellent manual while waiting for the new shipment to the store. So, all good it seems :D
